The reason Tzuyu's name is romanized like that is because she's Taiwanese where mandarin is the official language. The way they say it in Korean is actually also "wrong" because Korean doesn't have the sounds required to spell or say her name properly. So I assume because of that, to be faithful to her actual name they chose to romanize it the way that it would be romanized directly from Mandarin to English.

Mina probably just has the profound lines by virtue of usually doing the bridge/breakdown (because her contrasting voice suits those). Biggest way to tell the difference between Nayeon and Jihyo is that Nayeon has some vocal fry and obviously Jihyo has a huskier more resonant voice. They're definitely 1-2 by a landslide in splitting the hardest parts, but everyone agrees that Jihyo is still a stronger singer overall. (Jeongyeon is probably technically just as capable as the two, but doesn't get a chance to show it, for whatever reason-- she's very underutilized)

when i think of nayeons voice i dont think of vocal fry to be the defining characteristic of her voice. i think most people would say its her tone. its strong and piercing in a good way that pop music thrives with. vocal fry is something both of them can put on and off. jihyos voice on the other hand has more weight and depth i was really surprised when she said she couldnt make the distinction bc it sounds really clear for most people but ig it was bc when she said it we were in fila. filas topline in the chorus is in a much higher register and the higher you go the less space there is for nuances and personality in voice, at least for human ears

This is my favorite TWICE album. Consider that some of these lyric videos are wrong (appointing wrong parts to members) but this definitely helps you get familiar with their faces. Nayeon and Jihyo have completely different vocal tones. Nayeon's is more piercing and bright whereas Jihyo's is soulful like you said and powerful. These two are always ready wherever part of the song they might get. They are also in charge of the adlibs you hear at the back. Note* if Nayeon is singing (Jihyo is doing the adlibs) if Jihyo is singing (Nayeon is doing the adlibs). I also just wanna add that Jeongyeon is part of the vocal line along with NaHyo, but is under utilized. I can speak for all ONCEs when we say WE NEED MORE JEONGYEON. Definitely more of these reactions with your lovely wife. It's so nice to hear both of your takes and opinions. ONCEs appreciate y'all for taking the time and just enjoying TWICE. 🍭✨🔥

Thanks for this reaction!! It was a blast to watch and can’t wait to watch more album reactions from you guys! As you can likely tell, twice albums are such treasure chests full of amazing songs!!! Like honestly some of their very best songs have no music video but are incredible. And the lyric videos are so useful to start identifying their voices like you did in this one! On a personal note, as a nayeon bias I was so happy to see you give her flowers at the end of the video. So many people recognize Jihyo as a vocal powerhouse in twice (rightfully so, Jihyo is incredible) but a lot overlook Nayeon. Her tone is a little more of a head voice than jihyo’s is, and she tends to sing higher while Jihyo belts the more powerful lines generally but both have great voices in their own right. Their most impressive display of vocal talents I think is actually all of their ad-libs! As you dive deeper into twice, try to pay attention to who is singing crazy runs and high notes in the background! Often it’s nayeon or Jihyo (and usually you can tell who by who is singing the song… if Jihyo is the main one singing, nayeon is doing ad-libs in the back and vice versa). A great example of their ad-lib prowess is the last quarter of I can’t stop me! The back to back vocal slaying in background ad-libs between them adds so much extra oomph to the end of the song! Anyways thanks again for this reaction! Looking forward to the next one! Also if you guys are so inclined since it came out recently, would love to see you check out Nayeon’s album “Na”. It’s really soooo good and shows off Nayeon’s individual style (she tends to go for more r&b style in her solo music)

You have a hard time distinguishing Nayeon and Jihyo's vocals (this is completely normal). At first, I sometimes had problems distinguishing voices and faces. My suggestion to you (and I think it's a very good idea) is to make a reaction video to Jihyo's "ZONE" and Nayeon's "NA" albums. After listening to these two albums, believe me, everything will become clear :) and sometimes you will see that although their sounds are similar, they are actually very different. I hope you will make a reaction video for these 2 albums, I think it will be fun to watch. Of course, after these 2 albums, you have to make a reaction video for the MISAMO - MASTERPİECE album :) )

"Last Waltz" is a bit different to how you're interpreting it haha Chaeyoung says "While there's still warmth in your breath", not meaning "while you're still alive" haha. That line is more comparable to when someone speaks warmly of you. That's why "Our love was true" is a lyric. They did love each other but the love is not there anymore so let's part ways with positive memories of each other. It's bittersweet. “LAST WALTZ” is a sad story about wanting to make the day you break up with someone the best, perfect day. It’s about two people wanting to make the sad ending happy.

this album have 4 versions(covers) as 'study about love', 'break it', 'explosion', 'full of love'. and i think it's also related to the songs, like first part (moonlight - real you), then 'break up songs' (FILA - cactus), and 'explosion' that we have sub-units, and 'candy' is 'full of love'. (cactus also can interpret as 'lost love') ('scientist' is like 'the conclusion', like 'summary' report. (as they are scientist which actually always calculate things. :D seem like a little 'satire', right? :D)) one of their bast albums (which they have a lot) (their voice really very interesting, i mean, they are unique different, but also can blend well together, which sometime very hard to differentiate, and they play with that a lot.(like nayeon then jihyo which i can't separate till jihyo did the run. :P)) anyway, have a good day. :)

Naw that intro whisper in espresso is Sana. The color coded video for espresso has som parts either wrong or not highlighted. This is like a top tier twice album for me. One of their best. Right now the Dive Japanese album is really getting me I listen to it everyday. They just keep getting better and better. They did live stages on tour for this album too. I recommend maybe a line distribution video they highlight things a little better along with the adlibs and lyrics

Formula Of Love is one of their best ones. They had a lot to show but they slow down from all the being top with dance and force on their vocals. And it shows so much from this album. Then couple months after they did a JP album with Doughnut and Celebrate. They just killed charts with the most sold albums in JP.

For the most part I don't really have trouble telling Jihyo and Nayeon apart. But they both have solo stuff out. Maybe if you check out both solo songs back to back then maybe you can see where their voices are different. But yes both Nayeon and Jihyo do both high notes and ad-libs for the most part. Jeongyeon is in there to for some high points so don't forget about her too. Jeongyeon has a very strong voice as well.

"Chewy" is actually not technically correct either, but it's close to the original language version and resembles something easy to remember, so they made it a thing. The original pronunciation is more like "Dzu-Yee" (which is a little closer to how it's spelt). Typically, nobody says English-written Chinese words as they're originally pronounced anyways though, so reading it out phonetically would normally be fine. But since they gave an easy to remember nickname, everyone just goes with that. Also, I think technically, you're supposed to pronounce the "hy" in Jihyo and Dahyun, but it's so subtle that a lot of people just skip it.

Gotta watch Scientist MV, str8 fire... love the interaction as you both get deeper into Twice! PS, Nayeon can basically go the highest (hits a Mariah-level C6 at the end of Bloom, btw, unreal) whereas Jihyo is all power, all the time. Nayeon is a touch softer (yet nearly as powerful) + a slight inflection on a lot of upper register notes that is simply divine... hope that helps?! Thx for another great reaction!~
