This was a annual Chinese show known as "The Singer" for highly respected singers to compete...Dimash was the only non-Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3, 1/4 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast that night on Chinese TV to 600 million homes he had to have bodyguards the next morning for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sold out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous multi-billionaire Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%, and may have already finished his Ph.D. in musicology. He started serious singing lessons at the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He can swim the length of an Olympic swimming pool, practices martial arts, and plays soccer. His Dears are his very loyal fans and we number over 70 fan clubs in 120 countries globally and number in the millions, he calls us Dears because we are so dear to him. I've seen this performance 100 times and I find I'm holding my breath every single time. Dimash is amazing, outstanding, epic and every other adjective. Such a great performance. He is incomparable. Anyone can improve, but his range is not the norm at all. He is the 6 octave man though he sings keys off the piano and I tend to believe he can do 7.

He's been studying voice since age 5, and he works HARD. Still practices 3 hours a day. Took up swimming in high school and swam for hours every day to increase his lung capacity. AND - born to a mother who sings opera and a dad who sings pop, both professionally. Made his first "appearance" on stage at 10 months. Literally grew up surrounded by art and artists with 100% of his focus on making a career in vocal performance. So.... yes, talent, genes, and a ton of hard work.

Pomoy sings perfect copies of originals....not saying he's not good or talented. He is DEFINITELY a very good, gifted and talented singer.....but that's it. Pomoy is a singer. Dimash NEVER sings exact copies of originals.....Dimash sings only Dimash even when doing covers (Dimash respects originals....one fine example....while singing My Heart Will Go On....while keeping and being true to the essence of the original song, Dimash managed to subtly insert 'Dimash' into the performance). In other words....Pomoy is rather limited. Dimash is highly creative and fluid...PLUS depths, vocal dynamics, wide vocal colours, etc. Dimash is TOTALITY. People might not like his songs but there's no denying his 'diamond of first water' quality vocals....soft, gentle, delicate, powerful, clean and crystal clear.

The contestants are all professional singers. The contest is over like 3 months and extremely grueling. Dimash (from Kazakhstan) was invited as a wild card and woke up the day after his first performance a super star in China.

This was from a competition in China called Singer in 2017. It is for established singers, and everyone on the show is very good. He was invited to participate on the show, was the youngest ever to compete on the show, and was invited as a "wild card." FYI He is 6'3". He sings The Show Must Go On in Singer 2017, and a Queen medley as a guest with the Super Vocal Boys on the same show in 2018. He has been musically trained since he was five. It was discovered at a very early age he had absolute pitch (perfect pitch). Don't remember the exact story, but paraphrased he was asked if he was practicing. He replied the piano was out of tune, and it was indeed. He holds degrees in classical music (vocal), contemporary music (vocal), took a Broadway Musical master class, and June of 2020 received his masters in composition. He is now studying for his doctorate in musicology, but as of December 2020 he didn't know what his field of research would be for his dissertation. He still works with a vocal coach. His view is as long as he sings he can learn and improve. His voice is due to years of training, and natural gift. Both of his parents are singers, and also famous in Kazakhstan. You still have not heard anything yet, to use a cliche often used with Dimash. He will be 27 on May 24th, and has improved if that is even possible. His tone is now richer, his vocal range is larger, and his music interpretations are spot on. He sings every genre, but most of all his songs are in the Dimash genre to tell you the truth, and his Dears love it.😂 Continue on your journey, and be sure to include us.

Dimash started music school at 5 when his parents learned he could play by ear. He won his first piano competition at 6. His whole family is musical. Someone made a fantasy video that pretended to show him on agt, but it's not real. Marcello Pomoy is an incredible talent, but he mimics celine dione and Andre Bocelli singing the Prayer. Dimash was invited over to China in 2017 to sing on a Show called the Singer he was 22 at the time. Dimash can sing the whole piano scale plus some notes that are off the piano Unforgettable Day from the Gakku Concert he hits a D8.Please do SOS, Sinful Passion, Love is like a dream , Love of tired swans, Passione. He works hard. He is currently working on his doctorate and from what I read continues to practice 4 hours a day and with vocal coaches. He never stops trying to improve and is very humble, never ever taking credit for his accomplishments but thanking God, his parents, grandparents, teachers and fans. He will be 27 next week. He is thin but he is 6'3. Love Is Like A Dream is absolutely beautiful. Dimash has fans from children to elderly and the beautiful thing is he treats his fans with so much respect and care. Just a really respectful person.

One thing that always seems to happen when someone is brand new to Dimash is they spend the first few songs waiting slightly impatiently for him to get to the high notes and other vocal fireworks. I did it too. After a few songs, though, you realize that Dimash isn't a one-trick pony who jams his high notes in as often as possible to show off (because he doesn't need to). He likes to build the emotion of a song and place the vocal acrobatics where they make sense artistically and have the most impact. He's more concerned with presenting the emotion of the song than saying, "Hey! Look what I can do!" I think of him like a guitar player who can play really, really fast scales all up and down the guitar neck but knows when to slow it down and just play a soulful, heartbreaking solo when the song calls for it. The more Dimash you react to, the more you'll see that he likes to start slow and low and build to a huge finish. Rather than wait for the big finish, just enjoy the full emotional journey and appreciate the fact that some of the lower, slower, breathier bits are actually harder to do than some of the louder belting. It's all breath control and emotional artistry and he is a master of it all. Then, when he hits the 25 second runs with one breath, the crazy melismas, the key change into a note at the top of the piano, or a fully controlled whistle tone that's past the top of the piano, you'll have taken the full journey with him as he's intended. In answer to a comment you made in the video, btw, Dimash can sing from the bottom of the piano all the way up to a D8 (which is past the top of the piano). He has ~7 octaves and, unlike most singers, can navigate from bottom to top seamlessly. Thank you for your jaw dropping reaction. This was 2017 on the Chinese show "I am Singer". Dimash was the only foreigner invited to participate and the youngest at 22 years old. He placed second at the end. All those others were fellow contestants who were all established Chinese singers. He didn't know any English, so had to learn the lyric by phonetic sounds only, but he sang so emotionally, you believed his every word. Most everyone from the show, he became friends with. They were so taken back by how talented he was, but also how humble he was and still is today. The only thing to do is "More Dimash" Happy reacting.

He has an incredible musical education since he was 5 years old. Actually, he is working on his doctorate. He comes from a family of musicians. His mother is a soprano and his father sings and composed Kazakh music. This show was in 2017. In this same competition he did “The Show Must Go On” (Queen) you will not be disappointed. I grew up with Queen. I loved Freddie Mercury and, I’m sure, he loved Dimash version of his last song.

Dimash has a number of songs that are fairly classical, but no full opera that I've heard. His whole thing is that he wants to do cross-over, not any single pure genre. That said.... check out Ulisse with Aida Garifullina. It's gorgeous, and you'll get a real idea just how resonant and gorgeous his baritone range is.

I think when making recommendations people forget that all of us have music preferences. I always recommend my favorites first but I also think they showcase his voice the best. I'm going to give you a nice list of songs in diff genres. So, depending on your mood... Dimash has over 160 songs available on youtube but most people have only seen a dozen or so. Nice reaction! Dimash comes from a musical family. Both his parents are singers, his mom a famous opera singer in Kazakhstan. He has been singing since he was 5 years old. Trained in Opera. He does breath exercises in the pool to help his lung capacity. So Dimash has worked pretty hard for his skills.

His mother and father are famous singers in his country, his mother is opera singer. Dimash began to learn music and singing when he was 5 years old. Studied in a music school (also math, science, and so on), later studied in a University of music in his country, master in composition, he knows how to play 8 diffrents instruments. (piano, guitar, drums, violin, dombra, xilófono, cello, bayan and and also had incredible vocal coaches and a classic base in opera skills. His not an alien or created in a lab, has been studying during almost his whole life, like mozart, talent and studies. Saying his an alien or created in a lab is unvalue his efforts and hours of studying and practicing.

Enjoy going down the rabbit hole with Dimash’s music. This was done in 2017, he is now 27 and has many amazing concerts under his belt and most of them are on KZbin. This 6’3” singer is from Kazakhstan and has been singing and studying music since he was 5. His mom and dad are singers also. He speaks 3 languages, sings in 12 and plays multiple instruments. He is now getting his doctorate degree. He sings opera, rock, folk, pop, rap and anything else he wants. He is a very humble and charitable person.

He does go higher. He sings a D8, which is off the piano scale. He just turned 27, is 6'3", sings 6 octaves, sings in 12 languages, and as several instruments. If you want to hear him sing a D8 go to the Gakku concert and listen to him sing Unforgettable Day. He also raps. The Show Must Go On is fantastic! In fact every song he sings, is fantastic!

I am not sure why you think this performance was “cocky”. He had to “show off” his ability, the audience are the judges and apparently they wanted to be made to get on their feet, so he had to do that for this performance, to stay in the show.

This was originally a Laura Fabian song. Dimash is a big fan of Laura and she complimented him on this performance. Dimash often dedicates this song to his late friend, Olympic figure skater Dennis Ten, who was murdered in 2018 Dennis used Dimash's version of this song in his skating routines.

Great reaction. You really should have introduced your wife to Dimash by having her listen to SOS, Sinful Passion, or Love Is Like A Dream. As great as this performance was, it did not even scratch the surface of his ability. By the way, Dimash set a record for the highest note ever sung in a live concert, during this 2017 live performance. It is his now-famous D8. There were approximately 150,000 fans in attendance. Dimash wrote “Unforgettable Day” himself. During the performance, he made certain to erases any doubt that this was indeed anything other than a true live performance by moving his make quickly from side to side. Although, there are still the occasional trolls who claim that the note was pre-recorded or that it was an electronic glitch. I guess haters will be haters. Dimash not only hit a D8; he did a glissando and held it for ~5 seconds, even adding vibrato to it. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest note ever produced by a male as an E8. That was done in a studio, where the singer was just trying to hit the note. He held the note briefly after a proper warm-up and several attempts. Dimash has sung many whistle notes in the 7th & 8th octave in other live performances, but the above is his highest note to date. Because of his incredible range, over seven octaves now, and his vocal flexibility, he is able to make the impossible look easy. Dimash is not only considered by many to be the best singer in the world, but he is truly on another level. His voice seems limitless, and no matter how many performances of his you watch he will always surprise you with something new. If you do a Dimash/AGT on youtube, you will see Dimash, Thing is, he was Never on america's got talent. it's fake ~! This is a Chinese show called The Singer, sort of like AGT. I'm with you Tom. All songs performed by him carry a complex and deep meaning and often turn into a Hymn.
