Karamo, this is horrible how you completely disregard the male guest's sexual assault allegations, picking apart any minor "inconsistencies" in his story to invalidate his experience, and then you chose to focus on his bad behaviors like laziness, not having a job, and cheating/talking to women on IG--- only to then reveal his wife cheated on HIM too!! How is it fair to choose sides and be so biased as a host, tearing the husband apart for cheating, something his wife did too, while empathizing with the wife and being so understanding about why she cheated; completely excusing her behavior! You seem very biased, and it makes me sad. If this was a female sexual assault survivor you would fight to believe the victim until proven otherwise, but since he is male you view it as "I won't believe you were raped until I see enough proof" VS "I will believe you were raped until I see evidence otherwise" That is incredibly MESSED UP... and I am a feminist and as left/liberal as you can possibly be, so don't think I am some men's rights right wing conservative. WE MUST RESPECT MALE VICTIMS AND BELIEVE THEM THE SAME WAY WE EXPECT THEM TO BELIEVE US AS WOMEN. I sincerely hope that you stop playing favorites on your show just because you like someone's personality, or treating abuse and rape allegations involving women victims differently from male victims... men can be raped too, and you don't need to talk about what a crappy bad person they are to distract from the allegations or to try and make it seem like they deserve it, or aren't worthy of being validated as a SA victim because they "are a man that doesn't have a job"... interesting too, because grandma said he used to work and they got along fine; but then after the assault he isn't doing well all the sudden. If it was a woman you would say it was trauma, no wonder she's not able to work she was assaulted! Do better, Karamo.

@@Labelle1777 Yes!!! Same here and I couldn't agree with you more! I'm 30 now but was a victim of sexual violence as a teen and the way he was trying to portray the husband as a bad person to invalidate the possibility of his assault reminds me of being told "I deserved it" for drinking underage and having addiction issues. It's very much giving "you were asking for it", not long ago they wouldn't even investigate sex workers or drug addicts being raped because of their lifestyle... and yet Karamo really had to keep mentioning those painkillers huh? A victim of SA may have a criminal past, be a cheater, a drug addict, might sleep around, whatever: IF THEY DID NOT CONSENT & SOMEONE FORCED THEM INTO A SEXUAL ACT, THEY ARE STILL A VICTIM! There needed to be extra sensitivity towards this subject since men are notoriously afraid of speaking up due to stigma against male SA victims, and this episode PERFECTLY illustrates why! Is this what happens when male victims speak up, Karamo? We shame them and ignore them and invalidate them?? This needs a re-do and a SERIOUS apology, or else I just can't support watching this show any more. Absolutely PAINFUL for any victim of sexual assault to view. Lie detector and further investigation is necessary IMO, lets not protect rapists just because they are likeable charismatic people.

@@menalsaleh9222 YES and omg you have to read these excerpts from this study on male sexual assault; it's INCREDIBLE how many parallels there are to the man in this video; the link is at the bottom if interested but I jolted down some VERY relevant quotes; "According to current estimates, over 27% of men and over 32% of women had been sexually victimized at some time in their lives. Victimization has a direct negative influence on the physical and mental health of those who experience it, leading to short- and long-term physical injury, fear, anxiety, despair, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), low self-esteem, social difficulties, and suicide ideation. Together with other socioeconomic implications such as being unable to work, dropping out of school, being stigmatized, and being shunned by their communities, it is also linked to an increased risk of sexual and reproductive health issues. A sexual act that is conducted or attempted against a person who is unable to consent or refuse by another without the victim’s free consent is known as sexual victimization. Men are generally seen to be as less affected by sexual victimization. Yet, there is evidence to support the idea that sexual victimization affects male victims mentally just as much as it does female victims and may even be linked to worse results. " ^^^^^^^^ THEY LIST NOT WORKING not being able to hold down a job, low self esteem, being stigmatized, etc this all sounds so much like what they were saying about him! "Between 10-20% of female sexual assault victims in the United States (US) are believed to have reported the crime, and the number of male victims is likely to be far lower. Male and female victims may decide not to disclose information to protect a friend or family member, out of concern of retaliation by their attacker, and out of concern that they will be blamed personally for their victimization. Another specific rape distortion that affects men is the belief held by the public and healthcare professionals that men cannot be raped [35]. Men may opt not to complain if they are simply going to be informed that what occurred to them did not occur-an invalidation of their experience. Furthermore, the idea of the “ideal victim” is still widely used within this gender-based assumption of sexual victimization research [4]. In this conception, the perfect victim of sexual assault is conceived to be one who society is most likely to label as a victim. Within this framework, a person must fulfill five requirements in order to qualify for this status: (1) be weak; (2) be engaged in a respectable activity; (3) be somewhere she could not possibly be “blamed” for being; (4) the offender must be big and bad; and (5) the offender must be unknown to the victim and have no personal relationship with her. The emphasis in this depiction is on men as sexual offenders and women as victims. In addition, some individuals think that rape is an act of dominance and control towards women, which prevents men from declaring themselves to be sexual victims. The attributions of victim responsibility found that men were more likely to be assigned blame than female victims. They also found that when the assailant was a female less impact was reported than a male-to-male act. Male victim bias perpetuates victim blaming. Specifically, the acceptance of male rape was a strong predictor of victim blaming, suggesting that acceptance of stereotypical ideas about male rape means that a person is more likely to engage in male victim blaming behaviors. This is of concern, particularly as it is likely that these falsehoods regarding male rape are accepted widely [70], as confirmed within this study with high levels of acceptance of certain misconceptions or false beliefs on male rape. This finding is supported by Kassing et al. (2005) and Johnson et al. (2006) The first systematic report on adult male victims was by Sarrel and Masters (1982) who interviewed men who reported women perpetrating sexual assault [24]. The researchers noted psychological distress, post-trauma reactions, and impaired sexual functioning. Later studies found that gay men are more likely than women to have pro-victim judgements and endorse male rape falsehoods, including victim blaming [56,57,66]. ^^^^^^;;;;;;;; WOW, okay and that last part for real!?? The study said gay men are more likely than women to victim-blame men and claim their rape was a falsehood. Karamo needs to look within himself, educate himself, and check himself. If you want to read the entire study, here's the link-- it's informative and interesting!!! Link= www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10135558/

Karamo did a lot of finger-pointing at the guy, and yes, he *definitely* has issues that need to be dealt with, but the woman sitting next to him has a part to play too. Why not suggest counseling? I agree The Mom seems envious, and unhinged! I get the feeling she is afraid to be alone, and will never allow her daughter to be in a happy long lasting relationship. She would rather her daughter commit adultery than try to work out her marriage. Usually when men cheat with a married woman it's because they don't want commitment, definitely not with the adulterer! She stuck her chest out proudly to let him know she cheated, and she was going to do it again. Her attitude was almost comical, because I know this man she's going to do it again with, will only keep doing it with her, until he can't Nothing long term will come from this. I believe she did something to her son-in-law to cause trouble. She was in a toxic relationship and therefore she interjected her experience into her daughter’s marriage. The husband admitted his issues but he wasn’t heard. Yes he was wrong for talking to other women on IG. Chances are 3 weeks before the show wasn’t the only time the wife cheated. I would have thought Karamo would have taken better mental and emotional care for a man in this situation instead of dismissing him. That poor, strong man was invalidated and pitted against. Those women are malicious and need to be held accountable for for their actions and truthfully disgusting behavior. I pray this man receives healing, closure, and a loving space for him and his children. That mother is only going to continue to cause bigger issues in her grandchildren’s lives

This episode was so mishandled. That’s no way handle someone’s trauma he definitely deserves another opportunity to speak out on what happened to him. He said he DIDNT physically cheat and for his wife to commit adultery and act as though she has no remorse is something that should’ve been properly addressed. He didn’t even point out that her reasoning for being married wasn’t enough to justify the union smh this was all a mess .
@maliyahg5630 Жыл бұрын
I do think that Karamo should’ve held her accountable for cheating on him though… it was more so Karamo just skipped past the fact that she literally slept with another man. He talked to females on instagram but no physical cheating. She should’ve been held accountable. Leave the relationship! But cheating is never the answer

I honestly believe the mom wants him and thats why she dont want her daughter to be with him. He’s not unattractive. But I do believe they’re both trifling. They both toxic and they both are cheaters. He talks in circles, he doesn’t really answer questions straight out and that’s the behavior of someone who lies. They don’t wanna tell the whole truth but they’ll give you a piece. It was best for the both of them to separate.

KARAMO IS MAD CRAZY for this one… I really wonder if he plays this back & views his mistakes as a host. He’s very biased…. He seems feminine to understand man to man what the husband is saying. He sided with the women & it’s not giving! Why no lie detector or anything?! Hmmmm
@Lovely_1One Жыл бұрын
This was gaslighting in its purest and strongest form. These women ain’t always in the right and need to be called out on the bad things THEY do too. The trifling behavior and the justification and validation behind it from Karamo disgusts me. I love his show but this was completely done wrong! That man didn’t deserve to be embarrassed, humiliated and bashed this way. This is how people snap and go off the deep end due to their mistreatment from those they’ve invested themselves into. These women especially are disrespectful and out of line and need to be told about themselves too. Should’ve addressed each and every one of them not just him.

This case was extremely messy and had a LOT of moving parts. Karamo looked exhausted trying to handle this one. I think your producers made a bad decision to try to treat this situation in 30 minutes. This family, all parties involved, need mental, spiritual and physical surgery. I'd like to suggest a follow-up with this family in 3 months, but only with the mother and son-in-law. Then maybe the following 3 months with the wife and the husband. Just a suggestion. I appreciate your valiant efforts Karamo.

They are equally as wrong idc. Ain’t no excuse to put your hands on either , or. Period, and if the man cheating two wrong don’t make a right . LEAVE. We make ourselves look bad trying to ONE UP the one up is leaving before we gotta take it there. So I can’t even sympathize with the girl. Definitely need to split equally toxic and that’s not good for them kids . That woman blatantly sat there and admitted she’s put her hands on him before too so they equally should’ve been held accountable. That man was talked about like a dog , and what better is she if we allowing other men to sleep in our beds in the home we share with our partners ? She is just as much as the problem as he is

I’m a woman and I find it very annoying that karamo almost always sides with the women. Just ignoring the men’s feelings for the most part. He didn’t even give a lie detector test and just ignored if he was sexually assaulted or not. It’s hard enough for men to come out when things like that happen and it’s messed up when they’re constantly ignored. Then she admits to cheating on him and somehow that’s still his fault. If you aren’t happy in a relationship to the point you feel you need to cheat, leave. It’s not right for men to cheat when they’re unhappy just like it isn’t right for women. He has such a double standard and this was done so wrong. Just like that episode he had with the young couple when she was upset at her boyfriend for going to strip clubs. While she had a porn addiction and he told the guy basically his feelings on that didn’t matter but validated the girls feelings. He is very biased and it seems like he looks at women like these weak fragile beings and these men as the villain. As THE HOST, his bias is very wrong and needs to be corrected.
@Ravenstormx_ Жыл бұрын
I typically like watching Karamo since he’s a breath of fresh air compared to all the other hosts who did/are doing what he’s doing. But he disappointed me with this one. Sexual assault accusations regardless of gender should NEVER just be glossed over on. He was more concerned with the other details than the one that mattered most when there’s a man crying for help on stage after being violated. He never does that to his female abuse victims and it’s sad to see another example of how men’s sexual assault or trauma is never ever taken seriously. Men are already hesitant to self-report sexual abuse… this man is crying for help and received nothing meanwhile the mom and wife are treated like victims. Super disappointed

Horrible way for Karamo to handle it. He barely addressed the SA allegations against the grandmother and the fact that the wife cheated. Just because the husband was guilty doesn't mean he is any less valid as a potential victim of SA. There was no excuse for the wife to cheat it takes two to tango and it is also partially her fault for staying in nearly a decade and a half of a toxic relationship.

Wtf does this guy have against men? #1 karamo should have asked the mother to keep quiet so the guy could speak. He didnt. #2 karamo showed no interest in the guy's story #3 it was as if he spoke to the mother and daughter before the show and brought the guy on to make him look bad #4 the guy seemed genuine about trying to change but karamo offered no understanding. #5 karamo literally had the crowd laughing at the guy's rape story. If that was a woman, karamo would be pissed. #6 this episode reminded me of a past episode where a father wasnt accepting hus son since he was gay. Karamo took that personal and refused to position himself as a referee. Instead, he started to take it personal and held the side of the gay person. Thought he was a qualified counselor

The wife's mother is toxic af. She seems like manipulative bully and I wouldn't be surprised if she did drug him and sexually assault him. Hes not good enough for your daughter but you'll have sex with him on a drunkin night. I didn't care for how Karamo handled this. How you just gone gloss over the sexual assult because hes a man. It was like no matter what these women do they are always the victim. Clearly this man is in distress ,but Karamo is so blinded by bias towards the plight of the women that he can't see that this man is being bullied by this woman's mother. He literally excuses her cheating without any real context as to why... 14 years of frustration is not any excuse to cheat.
