There's no "mistress" the title is a Click bait. They never even dated. She assumed everything and ask for a divorce. Because she couldn't take care of her daughter she became partly death from one ear. He had to take care of her amnesic mother and handicap daughter while she was running around China for her "business" with her friend/boyfriend.

How could guangming not be disgusted with li mengzhu? Guangming believed and trusted mengzhu so much he didn't listen to his father who tried to warn him about her motives, his best friend and supervisor Jian Kang also tried the same as he could see her ulterior motives too because he's in the industry and mengzhu's father owned the rival pharmaceutical firm, old Qi ,the mother-in-law who caught the wannabe mistress stealing his hard disc file, even his daughter tingting who was only six and couldn't express herself about the situation except that the mistress was a bad person, etc.... actually or luckily guangming was never emotionally involved with her. So the emotional part for him was not an issue. It's all her imagination or delusion. Now all these deeds were exposed guangming felt so angry and disgusted with himself for being taken for a fool and a ride by father and daughter. Now she came to plead with him to forgive her because she loved him ... now that so much harm, suffering and guangming losing his job and a possibility of him going to prison....she maybe sincere in proclaiming her love for him. Unfortunately so much bad and evil deeds even criminal, had been done by her because she lacked moral judgment and integrity. Her father was selfish and greedy with no moral ethics. So was she!!! She thought she could get away with it and guangming would be hers. She was already halfway there, guangming had already left his wife and she loved him. So it's all about herself. She's so full of herself. She never took guangming's feelings for her into play. She never looked at herself in the mirror just because she's young, "only twenty-four" ... she thought that she's got the edge over dingxue. Guangming was a very dedicated scientist and scientists are very detached people with very good moral ethics. Anyway she'd got bad or no moral judgment. But then she never thought that the father was more devious than her ... all the father wanted was guangming's research to make him rich. He didn't care about her feelings for guangming or anyone else feelings. In fact her father played her out by framing dingxue and lijun with the help of his fraudster friend Zhao to force guangming to declare plagiarism on his own research. He didn't care much about his daughter at all - feelings or reputation, etc ... there's no love between the father and daughter ... except for the love of money. but he never realized how love between two people could so be strong and unbreakable - guangming's and dingxue's as well as tingting and grandma Qi working in the background to help the couple get back together .... Love conquers all ( love of a grandmother and granddaughter too, love between mother and daughter not just between a couple) ... love is two way ...
