My Wife and I have been seperated as well... I can tell you it has been a long few weeks without her... but I can also tell you the space has truly helped us realize how special we are to eachother. During this time I have realized I needed to relearn how to be myself as my identity and happiness was dependent on her. We are still seperated, but I will say every moment we spend together now is so special and I cherish it. I wish you well in your marriage. Sometimes time apart is necessary and will help, take advantage of this time to find yourself and better yourself....it's not the end and you will find that it may have been the best part of your marriage... God Bless you!

Long story but my wife and daughter asked for space so I am in a temporary apartment and struggling. My 15 year old daughter has issues with me an claims I trigger her which resulted in my wife and I arguing too much. After she claimed I denied a separation, she served me with papers, but still says she is keeping her options open and not in a hurry and loves me. I have things to work on and your video is spot on. I am scared it will result in permanence but am working on what I have to do. Is it delusional to hope for reconciliation?

It's a very hard thing to do, but I assure you this seperation will be the best thing for you both, whether you reconcile or decide to part ways. Try to Remember that she is a vessel on this earth navigating and moving amongst lions and wolves just as you are. Love her from a distance and truly wish to see her happy. Truly Happy. Sometimes it takes for us to seperate from co dependence to get better and find joy again. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family. It will be o.k I promise. I was a toxic husband. too far from what she knew me when we're still dating. I've taken her for granted. All I thought is she's too demanding for those little things i've missed. BUT THOSE LITTLE THINGS ARE BIGGER THINGS FOR HER. I was too sorry and ashame of myself. she just wanted security in my arms. but I became her nightmare. I wanna make things up for her butbnow she's afraid, traumatic and hurt. She wanted space before and now she's asking for annullment (no divorce here in the Philippines). I wanna fight for her, for my son. I wanna be better for them. that I can love them to the fullest. I wanna be with them. She's worth fighting, waiting and praying for. Hope i can have another chance.

We had a really good conversation and i told her that im sorry, im not that person anymore. (I actually have changed and it feels awesome). Told her i didnt need her, but want her. She doesnt know now what to do. I said; give it time and you'll see the changes. The relationship is very fragile.. how do I reforge this relationship as best as possible? Second day I pleaded and begged but realized my mistake and stopped bothering her. She said she wants to talk about our relationship and that she wants to work things out when she feels she's more established and found herself but wants me to wait for her, I told her I wouldn't wait but I'm not actively looking. (5 years together) It really speaks to me because she made it clear she doesn't wanna work on herself while caring for me too in a relationship that it's overwhelming and I think that too could be it on top of her depression.

No matter what i did it was never enough she was broken when i first started dating her and she's going to be even more broken without me. These reactions you are saying are great but shit, it’s not easy to react like this when you feel the sky is falling. It is easier after some space but the anxiety of the anticipation is brutal on the mind. Which again puts us in a catch 22. @MiguelLosRudos20 Жыл бұрын
Brother, what I’m about to say will sound brash or crazy because I am a complete stranger but try to understand. Giving your wife space is the worst thing you could have done. When women ask for space she is ASKING PERMISSION TO CHEAT ON YOU. The moment you agreed to give her space she now has an excuse for why she has been sleeping around with the guy she had on the side all this while. The fact she is calling for a divorce probably means the guy she was seeing on side has probably agreed to be in an exclusive relationship with her hence why she feels safe enough to call for a divorce. TRUST ME. When they ask for space, open relationships, time apart/breaks etc. It doesn’t matter how they word it, it simply means they are fucking, planning to fuck or have fucked a man outside your relationship and once you agree to these terms she has a claim to manipulate the situation and say but we were on a ‘break’, in the event she is to get caught or questioned about situations with other men that directly lead to the detriment of your relationship. Oh yeah might I add, her not wanting to talk to you about what you possibly did wrong for her to want a divorce is simply because she knows you did nothing wrong, she did. It’s all gaslighting, she wants to believe it’s YOUR fault she cheated so she can sleep at night for her bad decisions. I hope this message helps you. I’ll also advise you to check out the youtube channel Donovan Sharpe, he makes videos about this type of subject matter. Be strong brother.

If they can't coherently tell you why, it's unlikely you will ever get an answer or closure if they take space first. I mean it can happen, but likely it won't. There's arrested development, emotional neglect trauma in their background, insecurity, or personality disorders. If they're scared of it or they don't know why, there's a slim chance you can help. A good/ healthy partner won't disappear and leave you confused or angry. Not saying every situation ain't worth it, but if you were blindsided by it, find your own help and buckle up. Been there, done this. YMMV.

This is accurate from a males perspective anyway. She really left me, started with I need a break. Then it was left to us finishing. She said she knows we’ll be together in the future, and has said things like “ill be home soon” then “maybe one day” Now I know I need to give her space. And not try and grab her back. However I’m confused on the video. My plan was to just do me for 3 months, if she comes back, she comes back. But now watching this, I feel like I need to reach out to her and explain this, especially the emotional safety net? But if I do so, I’m breaking no contact?

I have to say i completely disagree. My wife of 25 years, girlfriend 8 years before just told me this. We have been together since 15 yo. We grew up together have had trust and safety since the beginning. Always have talked about our feelings and emotions. Our children are moving out and she told me she has went through these stages of life of wife then mother being pulled in multiple directions. Now that is over and she just wants to be herself. It has broke my heart because she is my world. The only woman i have ever loved. We have had a great relationship and this came out of left field. I have been the same guy since the beginning. She is the one changing the dynamic that has worked so well for so long. I wont make it if I lose her.

I can’t even communicate that I want space cause I know it won’t go well, il probably get a do whatever make you happy. Il take my time internally. Until I’m over the relationship and hopefully move on .

Hi Thembeka, I appreciate your comment. Many of my clients and their partners feel this way. They describe it as a catch-22. Like they are not able to express themselves and expect it to go well, and when they don't share this is not good either. Is this kinda like how you are describing?

Omg this is explains exactly what I'm currently experiencing with my fiance of 3years. I was the one trying to regain control and telling her that I could help her through it...😔But it's odd for her because she wants space but she also doesn't want me to stop reaching out and communicating with her. She also doesn't know why she wants space and why she has feelings of just wanting to be alone. What should I do about this? Block off communication anyway because it'll help her figure things out on her own or should I continue and just proceed as normal?
@susk5941 Жыл бұрын
Assuming I got the video right, I would say you should not stop communicating. But you should stop trying to convince her to come back to you or not accepting her need of space. Instead you should tell her that you realized her need of space might have something to do with your own behavior, that you didn't manage to create enough safety for her to wanna express or even work on her problems with you. You should tell her that you can totally understand that, because of you not being a safe space for her, she wants to be alone with whatever bothers her at the moment. But also tell her that you are very interested in her feelings, her problems and so on, and you would be very open to learn more about them, if she is ready to talk about it. In the meantime also address your own issues, whatever they may be and tell her you would really like to work on your skills of being a good listener, or less controlling, or less judgmental or whatever. So in conclusion: Tell her you unterstand her and do not try to convince her that her need of space is wrong. Admit your own faults and try to work on them. Offer a conversation to her conditions, where you give your best to learn more about the things that bother her.

How can you become a better listener when she ghosts you and the silence is all you get ... no response with any kind of text or conversation with you????
@spittaz15 ай бұрын
Don't call for 2weeks straight. Then if u still have access to call her. Just txt "hello how are u"..if she responds, then there is hope. If she doesn't respond, then keep your cool because she is checking your reaction. She will check to see your temperature. Just pass the test and Don't be impulsive and show restraint

So me and my girlfriend have been dating for a month actually a month yesterday and the week before I kinda started to I guess re-dig up past experiences of getting cheated on because her exes started texting her but as friends, and I freaked out. And then a couple days later she just slowly but surely stopped talking to me, she hasn’t said she wants a break but said she needs to figure things out by herself. And I did all of the things I shouldn’t have, spam text, say I can change, etc. and now I sent two big texts saying that I know you need space to figure stuff out, I’ll work on myself and I said to text, call, or let me know if you wanna hangout. And then I also said that I want this to work out and we need to have communication for this to work. I don’t know what to do anymore. How do I show her that I can be there for her?
@GeoffreySetiawan3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gavin, You can show her that you can create the trust and safety she needs by changing the way you interact and communicate with her… Be vulnerable and admit that you made mistakes in the past but you are working on becoming the best version of yourself…

If I may ask, is it wrong to set boundaries on this? If he feels uncomfortable with is, would it be wrong for him to ask her to cut communication?

I say be a psycho in regards to communicating with exes. Not putting up with that. And she shouldn’t either. Set a firm boundary talking to exes because that alone is a breech of trust.

If your a man, make sure you keep 50% of your money out of your marriage. Self insure yourself against divorce. Insurance companies wont offer divorce insurance because they know its at 60%. If you dont, your sleeping in your car after the judge gives you 48 hours to move out.

My wife advised me last week she was no longer in love with me, she took off her ring and said she needed to separate and think about things because we been in a relationship 25 years, I did exactly this reasons why she should stay work it out, then today I learned she’s cheated on me 4 times in past 2 years, I confronted her and she admitted all of it, I kept calm and stayed I’m sorry I pushed you to do this, I was a dick for a long time and partied while she was home with kids now my kids are grown up and she lost 150lbs in one year and looks fantastic and has tons of self esteem so I think she’s looking at this as her time to party and get back at me for not being there for her, I just scared what future holds, especially now finding out about the cheating, not sure what direction I should go, I really screwed up a good thing with a great woman that I harden her emotions to me

It's sad how we need videos on how to understand our women. Both sexes are at fault. At some point, women need to be able to speak up and have some realism in their lives instead of this crap. Maybe women are the ones that mature later than men.
