I think a cable clamp / strain relief should be installed where that cable enters the heater

They should include a cord grip with the heater that’s pretty crazy!

Very nice little heater unit - expecially for a workshop type space that you need to knock the chill off of. Super great that it is a connected device so you can pre-heat the shop prior to going out to work. You're going to need that this week and this coming weekend, for sure.

Quick tip, I like to tin or solder stranded wire in some applications. This keeps the strands all in one solid connection, especially under lug screws. I'm getting ready to order a shop heater, and this video was great! I'm going to look closer at this heater. I would recommend to anyone, use a Romex connector through that 3/4 hole in the heater. Also I would have used a different ground lug. That one with the heater looks cheap. Thanks for the video. This was great information.

Please check wiring diagram because you could be switching the neutral instead of the active, if that's the case when you turn the unit off everything inside is still live.

Once you pair up the external thermostat, does the unit then use that to determine the temperature setpoint? Like say you had it paired up and put the external thermostat in a cold corner. Would the unit then keep running until that cold corner was warmed up to the desired temperature or is it still based on the unit itself and the temperature of it?
@LandtoHouse10 ай бұрын
Yes that's exactly how it work. Great for warming up the whole room.

I'm electrically challenged. I have a 220v previous heater outlet in my garage. It's on a double breaker. Does this mean I'm only able to run it at 3000 watts? Does this mean it doesn't run as it should/can? Will i be disappointed and not buy it because it's only running at half it's power?

Can you wire this unit directly to a 240v circuit with a junction box rather than a plug in?
@LandtoHouse3 ай бұрын
Yes you absolutely can. One of the reasons I wired my heater as I did is because I wanted to visually see it was unplugged.

Hello there I just installed this in my shop today and I can’t get the app to work it will it just keeps saying WiFi not found , I don’t know much about that maybe I need a wifi extender for my shop I’m not sure but anyway I say to tell you that you don’t have to have the app to use this you can control it from the remote, there are things you can’t do without the app like set it to turn on at a certain time and such as that but if you don’t care about that part of it then just use the remote and you can turn it off and on and adjust the temperature and fan speed , you can even pair the thermostat without the app , I can honestly say it was around 52 in my shop and I turned this on and at first I thought man this thing isn’t doing much I mean I could feel the heat but not much then I just happen to stand on a stool to do something and figured out that all the heat was at the ceiling so I turned on a fan I have to circulate the air and it took it up to 60 in about 10 minutes or so and my shop is 24x26 with 8 ft ceilings a big garage door and several air leaks here and there so I’m sure when I get those stopped it’ll be even better I’ve seen a lot of folks use a fan to circulate the air and I think that is a must but overall so far I’m very impressed with this heater and I was worried about not being able to use it without the app and all too but you can with no problem … good luck it’s a great little heater

Ok you got heat yay 🎉 but now what are you going to do when it comes to summer? Why didn't you ask a mini split company you can sponsor them? That way you would get heating and cooling for free since you would be sponsored by then.

This heater has kept my 14x20 shop at temp all winter. I am very happy with it. The unit stays on the 3000w setting. So far no issues.

@@LandtoHouse We are in between homes right now. Looking to sell where we are presently. It would be ideal to have a wifi heater to throw additional heat in house during winter months when temps are below zero, while mot there. I just worry that things made in China may cause a house fire while not there. Do you feel this unit is of high quality? I appreciate all your input.
