Wigwam Motel | Have You Slept In A Wigwam Lately? Route 66 Arizona

We stayed at the Wigwam Motel (have you slept in a wigwam lately is their slogan). This cute little motel is in Holbrook, Arizona on Historic Route 66. It was a great place to stay for the night. I wasn't sure how comfortable it would be but it ended up being nice, quiet and comfortable. This is the real life Cozy Cone Motel from the Disney Pixar Cars movie. Holbrook is known as the "Gateway to the Petrified Forest National Park". This part of Route 66 Arizona is very quiet. You usually need to reserve 2 weeks or more in advanced but with COVID-19 going on we reserved 2 days in advanced.

Watching your videos of the southwest. Now I want to choose Amtrak to travel and stay at the Wigwam and revisit Route 66 where I haven’t been since 2002. The teepees look so fun to stay. I may have to buy two rail passes. LOL 😂🛖🌵

I live in Arizona and some of the existing stretches of old 66 are some of the most beautiful stretches of road and scenery you’ll find! Definitely do it!

I live in Holbrook, AZ. I can point you out to great spots where you can legally pick all the petrified wood you can get. (Not in the petrified Forest)

I was thinking the same thing! I especially liked the one that looked like a mini RV. It's a shame not any of them are restored, and are basically just giant decorations 🙁. Though I admit they do add to the charm of the motel 👍!
