I got these when I bought the set they were selling. They were solid working pliers for me. They are very front heavy and the head is pretty large. I eventually gave them away after getting another set.

Have a smaller pair of those insulated wihas and they are not supposed to be oiled cause although they protect from shock the oil is flammable I was told by a 50 year old electrician just work them in with out oil he said.

To my knowledge the cross hatching on the side is to turn this tool into the electricians hammer (for real though pretty sure that's why it's there)

Upon further investigation, I think you were correct about it being for a reamer...looks like it's a multi purpose feature
