A couple of answers to your questions: Q: Where can I find this? A: WiiLink provides this service to bring back online Wii services. All their software is available at www.wiilink24.com Q: Why does Wii Room ask for blood type? A: In Japan, some people believe that blood types determine someone's personality.

@@DJ5_OVD Ehhhhh, no. Japan is actually quite stagnant when it comes to tech. Technologically Japan is quite stuck in the 2000s due to the bureaucracy. They lived in the 2000s in the 1980s. They still live in the 2000s in 2024. For one, they finally stopped using floppy disks. Those can only hold a few megabytes and are vulnerable to magnetic fields as that can wipe the data.

I didn't realize it until I watched this video but... the entirety of the Wii's design philosophy literally falls within the Fruitiger Aero principles of design 😂 The white clean space, the cool neon blue, the rounded corners, the ASMR pings, the "radial waves" when a button is clicked or loading, etc. It all evoked that 2000's clean happy future vibes of Fruitiger Aero.

yeah thats because frutigier aero is a reflexive design philosophy that was invented extremely recently to encapsulate trendy aspects of design from the 00s. the wii's design philosophy falls into frutigier aero because fruitigier aero is designed to summarise it, not out of coincidence. in its most cynical sense, fruitigier aero is not really an actual design space, it's just a vague encapsulation of 00's nostalgia.

Pictochat, GBA/GCN link cable, all of the different Wii channels, 3DS with the (horrible but fun) AR cards and 3D cameras, etc; They really just went all-in on the games with Switch, for better or worse. The thing I noticed on the Wiis back in the late 2000s was no ethernet port (Which the Xbox 360 and PS3 had built into the console, but Wii did not, so you were forced to use Wi-Fi, which was spotty at times especially during thunderstorms and rain showers).
