I agree and disagree. People have the right to do what they want but it does seem like wasted effort if its not released. I personally share anything I have for free only because its more of a giving mentality and I reflect how I feel, mods are done for enjoyment and if others enjoy them the better. But everyone has a right to do as they want and nintendo does like C&D so its a complicated situation

Especially when it’s game no one else is modding... though I can kind of relate a bit I suppose, I tend to color line art and sketches I see online as a hobby, but I haven’t posted most of it since I wouldn’t want to take away from the original or do it without permission (assuming its possible to ask), but I still do it because I like doing it and like seeing the finished product. Completely different situation I know, and maybe irrelevant, but I can relate as far as working on something you have no intention to share just for your own satisfaction and enjoyment.
