WIKI GUIDES: Fight Caves MAGE ONLY (OSRS)

I thought this was going to be brutal to do Fight Caves Mage Only as everything has high mage defense and the best gear I was allowed was Infinity and....Barrage spells....God staves....BUT it was fine. It did take a lot longer than the other challenge, just because Magers took several minutes on their own, but anyone who's done Fight Caves or even speedrun Fight Caves and looking for a challenge or something fun to do, this is easily doable. The biggest concern was RUNES to cast Undead Grasp and be able to use Thralls vs using Barrage spells like the Wiki recommends. I would have run out of Fire runes if I didn't keep them out of my rune pouch.
These challenges are very fun, if you want to catch them live, I start an hour on Twitch and move over to KICK. The next challenges include ToA and WHISPERER, maybe even our favorite little blob, DUKE.

Rune thrown axe is actually really nice for hitting more of the lost souls if you dont have access to a venator or a more useful spec

keep in mind not only was knowledge limited back in the day but also there weren't as many features. Like you were not able to use F keys to cycle your menus. So yeah you might still be able to off tick flick but you're not going to be able to manually cast while also flicking.

I started looking through some wiki strategy guides for weird minimum setups and there's an insane one for corp. Solo/duo only, "fewer stat drains" (3x DWH, 4-6 arclight, no BGS at all): perilous moons armor and a LEAF-BLADED SPEAR, with fang for specs only.

I had such a random idea the other day. Imagine a duo boss, probably somewhere mid tier. You’ve gotta go in with someone else, every NPC wave in the fight caves is doubled, so you work together to handle maybe larger quantities of NPCs at once, Ex. you’d have to solve 2 mages, 2 ranges, 2 melees, 4 blobs, 8 bats in 1 wave. Upon completion, maybe a much larger boost of tokkul along with a fire cape, makes it more engaging, potential for some profit for going for more than just 1 firecape “necessary” for an account. I wonder if that would be interesting lol

Used a pretty similar setup in leagues for my fire cape there. I unlocked zeah and the wilderness for my regions because I "wanted something different" and different this sure as hell was.

You don’t have to prayer flick or do any of this crazy stuff. Trident alone at 70 mage will get you through with about 1k charges total, I did fight caves on my 1 ranged alt about a year ago. Doesn’t use too many prayer pots either. The big thing is to make sure that on waves 52-61 you double check which wave has the ranged/mage stack (everything else can be positioned to avoid using a plug-in that tells where things spawn) and focus ranger either flicking both or just praying for good hits on ranger

i didnt watch the vid yet, so maybe you do this at the end, but i had a suggestion - you could(after doing the funny gear) give actual min setup you would recommend, a lot of newer players find it very intimidating to get into some content, and having you give a good entry setup(for ironman or mains) would be cool, just thought it would add some educational value to this fun concept

Do you have any videos on setting up off-ticks like you do here? I don't really get how you time stuff on the fly in that way. I'm familiar with off-tick setups at inferno where it's like "oh stand here and then move out x tiles" or whatnot - but would love to learn more about how to do it when you're aren't paused and moving in a predetermined way.

There weren't any exact setups, if something is dragging towards you, you can pray against thing attacking and then when it isn't swap to thing pulling up, when it gets there it's a 3/4 chance it's off ticked. If it doesn't stepping under or dragging again can force it.
