I kinda have a feeling that Gamera has his own somewhat sizeable fanbase. After all, he did have his own series of films where he was the headliner. He never wavered between being a good guy and a bad guy like Godzilla did. He was _always_ a good guy. 'Protector of the Earth' and alla that. I don't think killing off Gamera in any manner would've gotten approval from the big wigs at Toho. He was just too valuable as an IP in his own right. Why we haven't seen a new Gamera movie, or remake or reboot or crossover is beyond me. It makes no sense. Not even a mention in King of Monsters? That's crazy - it would've been the perfect time to just throw in a mention, to bring him out and dust him off. Just show him doing his spinning/flying thing using flames from his foot holes (how does that even make sense?) and people would've cheered. I would've cheered. Or maybe he could've been shown doing gymnastics on the high bar. Gamera was always awesome at gymnastics. Anyway - it's well past time for Gamera to come out of retirement, get a fun redesign and start saving some kids from getting stomped on by bad monsters...but only after taking a beating, cuz Gamera _always_ has to take a really bad beating before healing up in a volcano or whatever. Then he'd come back and kick some ass, giant turtle style. Gamera may not have been as versatile as Godzilla. He may not have been as cool. And his goody-two-shoes act was kinda lame... But I spent so many hours as a kid watching Gamera movies that I'll always have love for the big silly turtle with jets that somehow came out of his feet holes. Seriously that makes zero sense. But whatever. 😂 I'm one of the people that wants to see him make a comeback, I guess. EDIT: Bring Gamera back, Toho!!!! Show the Turtle some love!!! 🐢💗

My guess on how both can be included in the MonsterVerse: Ganimes: A gigantic crab kaiju native to a remote Pacific island that can attack with its pincers and spraying acidic foam. Its design should also take cues from robber crabs and spider crabs as well as giant isopods. Kamoebas: A gigantic turtle also native to the same island that can attack by extending its neck to bite down on opponents. Both Ganimes and Kamoebas prey on each other, with Ganimes feeding on Kamoebas hatchlings while Kamoebas will devour Ganimes by repeatedly snapping to kill the giant crab. Its design should take cues from actual matamata turtles as well as Galapagos giant tortoises and snapping turtles. Both Ganimes and Kamoebas in turn are prey to Gezora, so their relationship in Space Amoeba is changed into a predatory one (Gezora's beak is made to crunch through both kaiju's shells). And unlike in Space Amoeba, they are not mutated, but are natural creatures from ancient times.

Also, unlike most kaiju (which tend to be the last of their kinds), Ganimes and Kamoebas will be shown as an entire species with multiple individuals. And as a reference to their weaknesses against bat sonar in the original movie, they are also hunted by Camazotz (because Camazotz likes to suck their blood).
