@@vafunseekers McCall's is a popular local bbq and seafood buffet that has been around for years. We just happened to eat there one weekend night a few months ago, and the food was good, and the place was busy. It is almost right across the street from Wilbur's.

We have visited Wilber's a few times and also got the pit tour! The food seems to be hit or miss. When they are on, they are great but it is always a roll of the dice. The ribs are sometimes very tough - the same with the pulled pork BBQ. When you ask the waitress, they shrug. When you email to notify management, they don't reply. Cool old place that borders the airforce base and sometimes the fighter jets fly overhead!

Our experience on the day we visited was exceptional. We have not had an opportunity to go back due to the distance. Consistency is the key to any good restaurant. We would definitely go back. Thanks for watching and commenting.

There were so many original items here. The hush puppies with gravy sounds like an amazing combo. All of y’all’s plates looked delicious. The Wilber cookie had so many tasty ingredients - we bet it was fantastic. The total was so low given how much great food that you guys got.

We were so pleased with everything. The quality of food, the variety of food and the price was outstanding. The gravy had a bit of spice to it where hot sauce was added. Nothing too hot but it was tasty. You can't go to McDonald's and eat for the price we paid for this meal.

Our pleasure! Thank you for recommending the restaurant. We did see McCall's bbq & seafood too. Some people when they make stew will put just about anything in it. We follow our recipe so it is consistent. This stew was good but it was different than what I am use to. I have had some stew that after one bite I throw it away. Glad you liked the video. As I told you before, I remember visiting a barbecue restaurant in Goldsboro many years ago that served up half a pig on the counter and the customers pulled out the meat they wanted. This building looked a little familiar but it’s probably not the same place. Was really impressed how they prepare the pork. Would love to visit myself. Food looked so good!! I’m like you, I love good barbecue .

It didn’t look like much was going on in the smokehouse? Why do you think a lot of these BBQ places in the SE don’t have brisket, ham, or turkey? 23:11

It may have looked like not much going on in the smokehouse due to the time of day we were there. Some places smoke the meat all night long and have it fresh for the next business day. In my opinion I think a lot of the older bbq places in the south and east concentrate on doing bbq and that's why you don't see brisket, ham, and turkey. That is what has kept them in business for so long and when something works you stick with it. Let me ask you what are your thoughts on places not having brisket, ham, or turkey??

@ Having lived in north Texas for many years, it’s typical for Texas BBQ places to have at least brisket, ribs, and sausage. Many will also have ham and turkey breast. Personally I go to a BBQ joint for the brisket, ribs, and sausage. 🤓

@@mistergrendel32 Texas is know for it's brisket. The old school bbq joints around here are typically know for it's pork bbq and with that being said they focus on that. A lot of your newer places will have more options but we love going to the places that have been around and we love supporting local Mom & Pop places. Don't get me wrong I love some brisket and sausage but in my opinion you can't beat some good ole bbq. You have got me thinking about some bbq right now and may have to make a road trip today!!

I’ll put it to this way I remember waiting on a table for 30 minutes it was dame good all farm meetings were held there and mc calls down the road looked like a ghost town but I still like Wilber’s better
