Here's the thing, Yela is from the Golden Era of hip-hop. Big, Big L, Rakim, Nas, Kool G Rap, etc... Telling stories in your rap was the norm. The gibberish that plays on the radio nowadays is DESIGNED to make you dumb and none cerebral. They want you to just listen to sounds and zone out vs actually thinking about what is being said.
