Maybe you need to add more stitch density to hide the foam? Some of the cheap foams do not cut so well so try and find some which are denser. Use coloured foam that matches you thread.

So I use a .14 density to get a clean cut on the foam. Using Poly thread allows me to heat the logo with a shrink wrap heater and tighten up the column and shrink any foam pieces that stick out. If you can get 40 shore density foam, that works best. Retail available foam is too soft and does not hold up to this much column density.

I am learning Wilcom Embroidery Studio e3.0 but, I do not have the toolbar Bling...how do I get this toolbar?

Right click onto the empty gray space near your other toolbars, this will popup a window with a list of toolbars that you can enable/disable.

At what speed did you run your machine at for an efficient sew on the hat? Been running into a lot of bird nesting issues with my design and trying to find a solution for a couple of days now
@DeanRoscoe5 жыл бұрын
Hey Alan, I run 750. If you get bird nesting try slowing the machine down or reducing the density along with using a coloured foam that matches the thread colour. Let us all know how you get on.
@lilestaban56425 жыл бұрын
@@DeanRoscoe and by density you mean the spacing under the stitch values right? I actually have it set at 0.27mm right now, and have tried slowing it down to about 550-500 and still get the same problem, especially around the curved parts on characters as well
@DeanRoscoe5 жыл бұрын
@@lilestaban5642 what brand of machine? Try experimenting backing of the density (reducing the stitches). If that works then you need to use coloured foam.

@@DeanRoscoeBarudan machine. and how would you do that? is there a specific way to do that? and we use the same coloured foam as the thread every time we run
@DeanRoscoe5 жыл бұрын
@@lilestaban5642 In Wilcom you adjust the stitch spacing or auto spacing value. Try opening up the spacing to what you would use on regular satin embroidery and see if you still get birds nesting. This will allow you to check if it is a density problem or machine/tension/foam issue. I am assuming you have already done the obvious stuff.. change needle, try a new cone of thread, adjust machine tension?

How is your tie off set? A few of mine started unraveling when I was cleaning up.
@DeanRoscoe2 жыл бұрын
I usually have one tie-off stitch because the machines add a couple by default. Check the small stitches setting in Wilcom to make sure that they are not being removed. Also check your machine control panel because most have a filter setting on there as well.

@Dean Roscoe I purchased the barudan machine and the software from a person selling because they no longer used it. I contacted Wilcom and Barudan. We already have CorelDraw 8 not 6 so, the program that came with the Wilcom is outdated since it is an earlier version. Would I be able to get the CorelDraw 8 and Wilcom to work together or should I even bother.

Can this be done in Hatch? If so, how?
@DeanRoscoe6 жыл бұрын
Hatch is domestic embroidery software. I only use industrial Wilcom embroidery software.
@Angela-uq1cs6 жыл бұрын
You could probably use Hatch to make these shapes manually. Just make sure to remove the automatic underlay. I believe the collum or "block" tool is the same and then he's just using a single stitch to lay down the straight lines. The numbers of 2mm are stitch length in this program but it could be called stitch density in a different program. It's just how close the stitches are together. You can find that in the object properties area. I use Bernina software and can do what he does here but the names of things are a little different. Bernina software and Hatch are very similar. They are domestic or home-based software for the average user and as a result are more automated and have less manual controls than industrial or Professional software like Wilcom E2.
