This was my favorite episode, & one of the reasons I got into Herpotology!! The Lampropeltis genus is still one of my faves because of Marty & this episode!!

Folks with your Passion provide such a valued services, some for venom collection, some for education, some for protection, and some for their own desire/interests. Pleased there are folks with that Passion, I'm more of the "you go ahead" and "I will appreciate you from afar". Puppy Dogs and furry creatures are my preference, and I truly love them. ✨☀️✨ .

To this day, not any one producer is like Marty. Great videos and the photography is excellent. Kind of trippy watching the snake shed and looking at the skin cells there. I saw a CA King Snake go through my garage as a kid in Santa Rosa. Black and white banded. Very beautiful snake indeed.

Definitely neat to see these now with an adult perspective. The California Kings were definitely captive filmed & I never noticed that as a kid!

I saw a beautiful California Kingsnake this week. It was the lightest of greens with dark chocolate colored stripes. Most beautiful snake I have ever seen.

I have several different types of snakes but my Kingsnakes are among my favourites. They have amazing personalities and are just so pretty ❤

It is amazing that they can consume over their own body size and weight. I can't help but think of a King Snake as "the Good Guy", keeping a balance in nature.

I don't mind Garden Snakes since they were good for keeping the rodent population. However, for the last two years I haven't seen any. They were scary, but probably more afraid of me than I was of them! One liked sleeping by my dog in my back yard. That was thelast time I saw it.

The King snake was given its name before King cobra was sighted and found later that the king cobra was much bigger. This was the same to lion being named "King of beasts" before tiger was sighted and later found that the tiger was bigger and more powerful.

Whoopsies. 🤣 Thanks for the cool factoids. Another cool little tidbit is that the King Cobra is not a true cobra but rather a member of its own genus, Ophiophagus. Its scientific name is Ophiophagus hannah which translates roughly to snake-eating nymph.

I've never met an aggressive king snake I've caught and released about 4 or 5 that get into my work, they are like cats of the reptile world. They want so just hang out ans do their own thing.

It’s impressive that they found a wild albino. They are not extremely rare but they are certainly uncommon. It’s even more impressive that some of the babies were albino

I luv little hoggies. But king snakes eat other snakes do they not? I don’t want to feed other snakes to a snake. Snakes with king in the name are snake eaters are they not? I do love gray snakes though so beautiful.
