I don't think he was pacing himself at all, he just went all out from the beginning and the fact that he still got away with the win shows his insane mental and physical toughness.

The stated goal (according to the narrator) was to run sub-44. Sub-43 has yet to be accomplished even outdoors, so that would be an utterly ridiculous goal.

My experience running 400m, you have a point where you will tie up. With training you can add to that distance but it won't get to a full 400 and you manage around that. Warholm was amazing in 2021, he had pushed his point out to about 320 with hurdles and could manage to finish. He still has that in his head. But since his injury last year he doesn't have that distance, maybe 250 right now. He's got the speed, actually lots of people have that kind of speed at the sacrifice of being able to finish. He had a rare ability in the distance, but it is going to be a while before he gets that back.
@PongGod Жыл бұрын
45.35 is still a great time for indoors. With a better strategy, I could see him going sub-45, but sub-44 just seems incomprehensible for any athlete right now.

Sounds like if he ran 21.08 1st 200m. He could then run the 2nd 200m quicker than previous WR holders. As he got 400m hurdles strength to keep going without decelerating, as much as the other WR holders.
