Thanks for sharing. You need to transplant some of those thunder chickens back to Wash/Greene counties.

Been watching ya for awhile now. Hunt western PA near the border of Ohio. Only used to run my dogs for pheasants but the past year of dealing with ticks in the fields has been annoying the hell out of me. So I have been transitioning to grouse and woodcock hunting. How bad have the ticks been up by where you hunt?(I am not looking for spots, just want to know if there's less to deal with in the PA grouse/woodcock wood than the fields.)

About the same I used to be in SW PA and it was the same they come and go in waves. Sawyer works well as a deterrent if you haven’t tried it yet.

@TheGrouseandTheTrout yeah I coat my clothes and gear in sawyer. The annoyance was picking them off my dogs since they are house dogs too and my ole lady and I find them on ourselves when the ticks don't actually bite the dog and die. So I have them with seresto collars as well as the chewable flee and tick stuff. I'll put it into comparison. We hunted one small field down where I am(near shenango lake) and I pulled 30 ticks off one dog. And every field after that was almost just as bad. That's why I was hoping that maybe getting into the woods would help.
