To me, it felt like a cross between Midnight and Waters of Mars? I think mostly conceptionally and visually; as the set design felt very similar. I think it took a little too long to get going though. I was on board with it by the end but it took a good half of the plot to really engage me with it. I think the dynamic between Tennant and Tate is solid once again, much like The Star Beast but I did honestly hope for a little more. Now, I don't want to sound like a privileged fan but this one felt like the budget saver of the specials. The filler in the middle even. While still fun, it feels like all hell is breaking loose in the Giggle. Despite this I just think there should have been a little more. Considering this is part of the 60th celebrations. I honestly thought the creature imitating 14 was going to struggle to comprehend it's body and memories regarding regeneration and accidentally become 11 or 12 for a few minutes. Wishful thinkning I know. I did still have a good time with the episode though.

Yeah I do feel a bit of this, it doesn't 100% feel like a special

It would make no sense for the aliens to imitate anything other than what was standing in front of them.

@@MrDeadhead1952 Why not? They have no idea how the rest of the universe operates. They could barely keep body parts from falling apart. At the beginning there very easily could have been an incarnation change followed by a joke to the fake Donna along the lines of "can't you do this?" It very easily makes sense to the narrative.

I loved it - totally surreal and I basically sounded like ten at times “what? What? What??!!” I feel like this is almost a mini series of Tate and Tenant to finish off their story and I’m here for it

You pretty much said everything I was also thinking Nerdy Brit. Except, I like Wild Blue Yonder better than the Star Beast & Bernard dropping in at the end... priceless! So looking forward to 'The Giggle'.

Overall, the moment I loved is the nod to THUNDERBIRDS with the " Milady and Parker " moment when they first got aboard that antigrav golf cart.

I enjoyed this episode. Been watching DW for 18 years and it wasn’t a bad at all… and you could tell David channeling Crowley in this one lol! But looking forwards to the Giggles! I do hope that rumor is true though. Would be nice. And can’t wait to see Ncuti as the Doctor as well… and best part of the whole episode was seeing Bernie Cribbs RIP

@@TheNerdyBrit it was very obvious too lol I think Crowley is another one of David’s best characters he’s played. We just needed the Crowley walk like at the beginning of The Star Beast lol 😆

Sorry but no you didn't see any Disney money on screen, this was made in Summer 2022 and the distribution deal didn't happen till the end of 2022. What it is a showcase of the quality of UK produced CGI and Special Effects.

Also I had no idea Isaac Newton was from the Caribbean. Perhaps he got he idea for gravity when a coconut fell on his head and history has whitewashed it?

The scene where they are in tunnels and they showed Donna, I thought they show the Evil Doctor. When they were going back and forth it confused me, then, my arms are too long, after the jaw, I was wondering what next. What year is this 1666 Wait a man and apple tree You must be Sir Issac Newton Sir You understand Don't You understand Spoilers Both You understand the gravity of it.

It was good. I wished they didnt have the dodgy greenscreened segment of a black Isacc Newton. That was totally unecessary. Also the compositing of the actors on the long corridor scenes was terrible.

It certainty was a weird one. I really respect RTD for just going bonkers with it. I loved the character beats and the stakes. Kept me kn the edge of my seat. Though my only criticism is that is was a great epiosde, just not a great anniversary special
