IMO, 4:04, the shot Franz made over the dog was not a shot I would take. It was a great shot nevertheless, but if that dog jumped at the critical time, it would have been needless.

I would argue that Sweden could be the best hunting county since the diversity of huntable species is very large. For instance in south Sweden game like red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, moose and wild boar roam. And in the north the moose, bear, and upland birds like capercaillie and black grouse can be hunted

In my country, Portugal, and in France, I hunt with silencers. Spain has execrable laws regarding weapons and weapon accessories. In social hunting, in driven game shoots, the silencers are particularly useful. They safeguard the auditory faculty of the hunters, of the pack leaders, and of the dogs. They also minimise the stress of the wild animals and of the livestock.

In Monterìa it is totally prohibited to shoot near dogs or into bushes. The best shooter is not infallible. You should think that you are setting an example for the new hunters, they will copy what you do.

Franz master class as always

Class? Shooting near the dogs is far away from class. In Spain the hunting ethics are different, but that doesnt mean he has to lower himself to that.

Neil? 17:03 the second shoot what are you shooting at? The boar disapeared in brushes and you shoot at the brush? You can hear dogs and you shoot and something you cant see anymore?

Yeah, I see that, ... in the moment, you don't want to track these... How about the shot Franz took right over a dog? 4:03 No way I'd do that, and I can shoot damn well. Out of respect you don't shoot around the dogs.

I did not see this one at first sight, thank you! At 13:17 Karl is also shooting right over a dog. I love the series but this is a shame for the producers and some of their caracters. Never judge, if you were not there ... but it is hard to believe, that this was a safe and good hunt.

No, I'm not judging their shot, but mine... obviously they are a better shot, and can afford a negative outcome.@@ChristophHalle-u8g

I just watched this segment, and am compelled to say I am disgusted and mad about both, Prince Franz-Albrecht and Car Gustav. The are (supposed to be) extremely experienced hunter , and yet, both took shots when dogs were in the very line of sight. This is very unsportsmanlike, dangerous and very disrespectful for the dogs, their owners and the hunting activity itself. When hunting elsewhere in Europe, they are very careful not to shoot any "not allowed" animal, big sows, etc. and when they come to Spain, do not even respect the dogs. Some bullets passed just a few centimeters from them. Prince Franz shot a second boar when a dog was BEHIND it, coming to bite the first one dead, just a miracle prevented the dog to be shot. Carl shot just ABOVE another dog. Not more than a meter bellow the line of sight. Shame on them! I feel quite disgusted, sad and disappointed by them. Furthermore: The boars the organizers had, no doubt, "prepared" (raised among fences and fed) to be shot by just for four "fortunate" hunters equals the whole amount I have probably seen during my 40 years of hunting driven hunts. That can NOT possibly be over free-ranging game. It is a fake hunt. Rather, a slaughter by rifle fire. It has to be a paid advertisement, directed to European hunters, to come to Spain and enjoy such unreal "hunts". From now on, I can not keep the same favorable view of the "Wild Boar Fever". I am sorry.
