Perfect shot. Great photography and story. I seldom hunt any more, just occasional game birds, but I still love to get out into the country when i can. In recent years I have taught myself to leave the camera more often. I found that stopping for the photo or video was distracting me from being in the moment, truly experiencing the place and time, the sights sounds and smells around me. Ironically, your beautiful clip of deer on the hillside, allowing the camera to linger, took me back to my last pre-pandemic trip into the mountains. I sat and watched a magnificent bull elk come down a high mountain trail, passing within 20-30 meters of me. I was sure he knew I was there but studiously ignored me as he walked by, each of us not troubling the other. Moments like that are rare and special. In another time I would have been looking at him through crosshairs or a viewfinder. That experience is just not the same.

Simply excellent video once again. It is fantastic to see a hunter that shows proper respect for the game and the land that they hunt, and who also would just be happy getting outside if they never got a chance at a shot. Very reassuring in these time where you see too many people on KZbin (i refuse to call them hunters) going out and just looking to kill anything they see. I have the highest respect for European hunting tradions I believe this is how it should be. Thank you for the content on your channel it has inspired me to get into black powder shooting here in the UK. Please keep up the great work.

What a classic rifle and I agree with Mr. Balazs that hanging an old rifle on the wall or storing it in a safe makes them fade away. The weather for the boar hunt looked very cold. Do many hunters hunt waterfowl in Hungary? I used to hunt waterfowl with a Navy Arms, percussion, double barrel. I would use 4 drams of GOEX 2F black powder under 1 1/2 ounces of #4 or # 6 shot. Unfortunately the requirement to use steel shot stopped me from using the double. This was before Bismuth shot and other non-toxic alternatives were available.
@capandball

Dear Jacob, yes we do hunt waterfowl with muzzle loaders, we can still use it outside of restricted areas. I hope that tin plating lead shot will solve the problem. I hope we can keep hunting with these old arms.

Every time I watch one of his videos I am thinking about doing the hunting license... The next day I go to the forest and see that Berlin wall of highstands and the overweight hunters with their SUVs parking right under them and all motivation is gone again. I am really curious if this style of hunting is more common in hungary, or if B.alazs is a unicorn there as well
@grinninggoat5369
@grinninggoat5369 3 жыл бұрын
@@peteraugust5295 I agree, but you got to blame your area for their laws, those that introduce them & those who vote for those who make them. The highstands and SUV's wouldn't be there on public hunting land and the hunter's wouldn't be so fat if the laws made them walk and carry their fancy equipment instead of trading their sloth for votes. Problem is with voting... most popular votes on shared social matters are cast by a bunch of lazy asses and elected politicians wanting votes that trade rje voters desire for "easy access & lazyness" against the better welfare for everyone with equal application in the end. In other words, if you want to compete on public lands in hunting sports, you have to have the same access to means and equipment the lazy hunters use because those without it are at a disadvantage for the limited game. Hunting well managed and sustained private land with the owner's own restrictions is where it's at these days even if the amount of land is much less than the public access land. One just has to have some way to legally access that private land in some way. That is a bit harder to do so, again.... most people choose the easy way and they go to public lands which, ironically, makes it harder for everyone using it in the end.

People never comment about it but good choice of clothes. You're a hunter, not a guerilla warrior, so dress like a hunter and not a guerilla warrior. I see hunters buying and wearing camo clothes to hunts all the time, like they're going on a manhunt or LARPing WW2 or something. And they either say they don't care or they don't have the money for hunting clothes, even tho the camo stuff usually costs more than proper hunting clothes unless they're from the military. And the worst thing is that hunting stores mainly sell the camo clothes. Things are changing with new hunters but the old ones just straight up break all the rules
