My brain is confused between cuteness and thread because if I'd see one in real live in the Forrest I'd run for my life. Still beautiful creatures

@deadaccount45223 жыл бұрын
The same way horses don't typically attack when you approach their foal: She's used to people.
@DT-267K3 жыл бұрын
@@deadaccount4522 She must be preeeeeeeetty fucking used to people to permit this sort of interaction. When a mother sow is farrowing, she's apt to go into Blind Rage Mode when anything that doesn't look, smell, or act like any of the hogs in her sounder gets within goring range. Instinct generally overtakes reasoning during this part of their life, and to have so trusting an interaction with a human of all creatures during this time is like having a boar act the same way during the mating season when their testosterone is practically screaming KILL KILL FUCKING KILL at everything around them that isn't a sow.

Is that sow fully wild? I'm just amazed at how comfortable she is being close to humans.

Depends on the pig. A lot of wild ones will come to humans if they haven't had any negative interactions. Pigs are very smart and will remember how they've been treated.

Seeing a fully wild sow so comfortable with humans is not a positive sign. It's crucial for wild animals to maintain their fear of humans to avoid potential conflicts and ensure their own safety.

My advice folks , do not try approaching a truly wild pig with piglets and be careful if taking a dog for a walk in an area where there are wild pigs .

Here in the US wild boars are a huge problem. They destroy acres of farm land and attack people. But maybe in different lands you are friends with them??? Here not so much.....
@dashielle982 жыл бұрын
@Jeffrey Montgomery Does that really surprise you? They don't even live on that continent. There are a very small number of states in the US where they live "wild" aka feral because people kept them and then later released them for reasons such as...was an idiot? Who knows. Generally about 90% of animals that end up in a non-native habitat ends up damaging it because the ecosystem there has already developed with balance with the animals existing there, and introducing others disrupts that balance. Humans are also one of those species. We aren't meant to live in all of the places we do, and certainly not at the numbers we're at either. We are doing more damage than every other species combined has ever done, so although it is true that animals released where they don't belong can be a nuisance, I always find it hypocritical when people say they're a problem because humans are always the #1 problem, yet nobody is attempting to leave, reduce numbers by means of limiting reproduction, get rid if them, or even reduce the damage. It's hard to take it seriously when someone says an animal is "invasive" when the one saying it is 1000x worse and that's totally fine. Also, the boars are only an issue because of people. They put them there. If they hadn't, there would be no boar problem. So even that is a problem problem, not an animal problem. In Florida especially, where there are the most boars in the country, people releasing non-native pets continues to be a problem. My favorite animal ever that I want to keep so badly is no longer legal in the country because of Floridians releasing them and causing a nuisance "wild" population there.
