Wild bunny lets human know when she's got enough petting

A wild rabbit named Madame Bunny has figured out a polite way to let me know when she's got enough petting from me. This cottontail knows that letting her human friend pet her on the back is part of the deal if she wants yummy snacks; she also knows she can "say no" if she's not in the right mood for petting.

Awwwwww she is beyond sweet! Just how happy she became when she heard you with her binki and zoomie shows how much she likes you. I think it means a lot to her that you feed her and welcome her (same for all the bunnies!) because to them food IS love. Then she let you pet her a long time, and when she had enough petting she let you know very politely. She is precious!

try to pet her head, they love it and hate when you pet theor lower back when the bunny offers you her head it want to be petted

A couple of our wild bunnies are fine with back petting, while most of them don't respond well to head petting like pet rabbits. I've only been able to touch a few of them on the head and most of the time they don't seem to enjoy it. They instinctively want to keep their view clear and erect their ears at all times to stay alert and head petting seems to hinder that aspect.
