Deadwater Fell feels remote, desolate and eerie.
A brilliant place to get some good Northumbrian cold into my bones.
The weather didn't dissapoint- rained for hours overnight and we woke up in a cloud with swirling droplets eveywhere
We explored Specere, the Kielder artwork/ shelter and got some great images of the radar station.
I tested a new bit of kit:
The Armytek Wizard C2 Flashlight
If you like the look of it grab one from:

The most exhilarating experience in the hills is from the wind and rain lashing against your shelter when you're warm and cosy inside. With only a thin and vunerable layer of fabric to keep you safe from the elements and at the mercy of Mother Nature.

For sure. That's one of the things I love about wild camping, that feeling of being so close to the elements, yet being protected. Love it! Cheers Damian 🤘🤘👍👍

Thanks Mark, I think the navigation is probably easy enough, we were just having a bad day! Mind you, Kielder is full of walking and bike trails that don’t necessarily appear on an OS map. Great place to explore and camp up there. ATB, Graham 👍

Hi Graham....my favorite place dead water fell. I did a bivi many moons ago in the shelter...it was freezing lol. I think you've just gave me a diagnose of your condition....when my fingers get cold they turn white and numb...though it was a natural thing from the cold....not a condition, ive never heard of Raynaud's syndrom. I know that cave well.....its nick named pedens cave as the cross is named pedens cross. Im sure its in one of my vids going back atleast 11 year lol. Great camp but unsure about the joke lol. Cheers for bringing us along Take care

Hi Mick, I remember watching your videos when you bivvied in the shelter, it looked great, I considered doing that but ended up taking the tent. Just as well that night, because in the morning the shelter was soaked through. Thanks for the information on the cave: that's really interesting, I didn't expect anyone to know about that. I was trying to read the name on the stone plinth. I've found little stone crosses all over the Kielder area but don't know what they represent. Yeah, I'm not sure about the jokes either lol Cheers Mick, and thanks for watching, ATB, Graham

Thank you, there were signs we were on an MTB path so we were very careful- didn't want to get clattered and damage an expensive bike! I think it was closed though as there were plenty of cut logs over the track, TFW, ATB, Graham 👍

Those burgers looked tasty, I wish my meat would stay really big and thick when I want it to haha!. The cave with the cross inside was interesting, shame your camera didnt't record. I looked on keys to the past and found nothing about it. Plenty of history in that area and I've never been up Deadwater Fell. Seems a decent torch, been contacted by the same company not long ago and didn't reply but kind of wish I did now.

🤣🤣 ooh er missus! Aye, great burgers from that Moorhouse Farm Shop. I was a bit annoyed about not filming the cave as I'm sure it was my fault- musn't pressed record properly then didn't notice- oh well 🤷‍♂ It's a pretty good area to explore. The torch is quite canny actually, glad I took up the offer. Cheers Damian, thanks for watching 🤘🤘

Nice one Graham - watched this in my tent last night up the Cheviots. Deadwater Fell is a canny old hike up so I've heard. Myself and Annie had a bit scout up that way last year, but we took the forest gravel track up and ran out of time before the real ascent started. It defo looks like a place I'd enjoy camping at, but it looks like pickings were slim for pitching. Your tent disappeared it was that stealthy! As always a great watch (apart from the dad jokes 🤣🤣) New torch looks good and hopefully the new gloves saved your fingers from suffering anymore than they usually do. TFS atb DVS :)

Thanks Donna, it really is a magic place to camp and the haul up wasn’t too bad at all, once we found the path up. You’re right, there’s not a lot of pitching up there though, but you can always find somewhere. The mitts were great- a good buy for the old hands. Thank you for watching- much appreciated! ATB, Graham 👍 P.s. I’m not sure about the dad jokes either 😂
