We gave in and bought a trailer last year after tenting for decades . We really miss cuddling or reading a book and listening to the rain on the tent. Rain on a rubber roof just doesn't sound the same. We are planning a week tenting in the mountains this may for old times sake. Mind you our tent is 13X12 and really comfortable but, hey, it's a tent. Pray for rain

In my country a fog descending on a moor always means a sharp drop in temperature. Wet chill without a coat. Very interesting to see in that area you could remain in T shirts. Beautiful showcase of this landscape. The extended shots of prepping drinks etc. really made me feel like I was there with you. The still has inspired me to get back out there.

I love sleeping in my tent under a good storm. The only thing that's less nice is to get many stormy days and everything gets soaked and it's difficult to feel warm. Mainly if the sleeping bag/quilt gets wet due to condensation issues in the tent and no opportunity to dry it. I'm talking several days. Very nice video! Thank you for sharing and bringing back memories.🌹🌻

Looks like New England to me, probably coastal Maine, beautiful country. I brought all the cooking equipment, propane etc. the first time I went backpacking and then never again, too much weight and bulk to carry for the benefit. I also gave up on all the canned goods, too much weight and then you had to carry the empty cans out. All my foodstuffs had to fit in ziplock bags and be high nutrition for the weight. I always enjoyed the rain as long as it didn't last for days and days.

Lovely rain, I almost always see it as "nature cleaning up" and of course nurturing every living organism! I appreciate how your friends respect your camera cues. I have a bunch of friends that would start hackling because they get nervous when I'm around and start filming. Needless to say, I rarely get a good narrative when they are joining me on a trip!! 😅

I understand your problems regarding traversing rough terrain.That is why for some time now I have used trekking poles. I wouldn,t go hiking without them!

I personally cant be bothered with trekking poles, I use a stick every now and then but for the most part I just keep moving. I likely will get a set in the far future though.
