Wild Camping on the Beach | A Whisky by the Campfire

Come and join me on one of the best camps I have ever done, a night by a campfire on the beautiful Rhossili Beach.
Rhossili Bay is the most westerly bay on the Gower peninsula and bears the full might of the Atlantic swells. It is known as a great beach for surfing, with the biggest waves at the north end at Llangennith. It is a dramatic environment with Rhossili Downs towering above this three mile long beach. Heading west along the cliff path towards the end of the peninsula there is Worm's Head, a mile long promontory that juts out into the ocean. Rhossili Bay has been named as one of the top ten beaches in the world and has been voted the best beach in the UK.

I remember walking part of the Welsh coast path a couple of years ago, when I walked up the hill & clapped eyed on Rhossili bay, I welled up from her sheer beauty. I hardly seen a soul on the whole walk & had the beaches all to myself.. it certainly is a spectacular place. On a miserable day with side ways rain & not much visibility heading to worms head, I took the wrong path as I was walking naked(no map). Took a sheep track & slipped about 40’ to the cliff edge on my arse, my arse was in my mouth as I managed to jam my feet onto some rocks on the edge of the cliff.. the gods were on my side that day.

Loved that , never camped on a beach , one to add to the bucket list ! Loved the attitude to just picking up the litter, even though it's sime other puppets ! My dog Walter who looks loads like Toby is also glued to the TV and runs over to it when Toby on , hilarious to watch. Love this chanel since I've recently found it ! Great views , love the info you put into it and great to learn new ways to set stuff up and pick up tips , and probably because I prefer dogs to people lol. Cracking video and how nice it was to see Toby running around like a pup, our old girl loves the beach as well. There's nothing like that relaxing wave sound as the sun drops and darkness falls. Love the drone and film work again Ryan and look forward to the next one. We are out in the Welsh hills ourselves in next few weeks, still going at 64 and 67 with the inspiration of videos like this. This was my first video of yours, and I am impressed. Impressed by the quality, impressed by the beach, but I am most impressed that you did not get sand all over your food and camp. I normally don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like in this video. Here everything looks soft and smooth 😊

Love being on the beach - we have a place near Berrow in Somerset and it's great being there with the dogs so I share your thoughts. It's the Bristol Channel though so swimming isn't the best 😂😂😂

Fab ....camping and cooking on a wild beach . Collecting washed-up wood for the fire ( winter only ) . It´s the best. I´ve done the same on wild west coast beaches in Portugal . Deserted and unspoilt. A nice white wine cooling in the rock pools . Bliss. I really enjoy all your adventures.

That’s a different camping spot. I love a good beach camp something really soul stirring about it. Never been to that beach looks bloody lovely. Dogs love a beach don’t they mine never wanted to sit still on a beach camp always wondering around and digging 😁.

Just finished savoring this film Ryan. You really have an eye for all aspects of making these fantastic adventures. I've always loved Wales and nearly moved there back in the 80s...... How I regret I didn't. This film alone has made me get off my arse and visit all the time I can walk able 'buy green banana's ' so to speak. I'll be showing the Memsaab this film on the telly tonight, easterners will have to wait ! Ha! ATB
