This pack of wild dogs managed to hunt a warthog at Duba Plains Camp in Botswana. Warthogs are known to be tough prey to kill due to their incredible speed, strength, and tusks. Even lions struggle to bring down large male warthogs.
However, with the hunting skills of African Painted Dogs and their incredible teamwork, this pack managed to secure a warthog kill.

Lions in the Okavango Delta have a very specific adaptation to be able to wade through water. They need to swim to be able to traverse the unique wet terrain.

@@GreatPlains Yes, I know about the conditions & the so-named "swimming lions" as they are called. That's why I asked if this is the Okavango because there are some other locations where they have to deal with water also up to a point. In July 2024, 2 male lions named Tibu & Jacob swam nearly a mile across a river in the Kazinga Channel in Uganda. The most amazing thing was that Jacob had only 3 legs. The theory is that it was because they had heard lioness some miles away. The swim was captured on film by researchers who were monitoring the lions to see if Tibu was helping Jacob. Thanks.

With the warthog's alert sound, other predators might be called to come investigate. It is definitely clever for one of them to be on the lookout!
