A lot of Kpop songs that artists sing are written by others. Park Hyo Shin wrote this song at the very lowest point in his life and that's why you can feel all the emotions and how heartfelt he sings. It's organic music that feeds our souls because even if we don't have the talent to express it as beautifully, we've all experienced highs and lows/despair in our lives so it really hits home.

Wildflower itself is him, this song is about his life, his career, how he get into this point of his life at that time. He was used and abused by his late agency, they will booked every show and have concerts for him nonstop until he collapse on the stage and having trouble with his voice, they didn't pay him the right way, he was forced to sing in a certain style try to listen to his other song called snow flower and memories resemble love then listen to wildflower and goodbye it's so much different because of his sickness and he's troubling to find his own voice after being forced to sing in a certain way for so loonng. He decided to get out from that company but he has to pay and he lose on the court he has nothing at that time no money, no fame, nothing so he got into the military. In there he write wildflower then he meet the pianist there too ... after they got out from the military they working together on Wildflower and this song hit like crazy ... you can see he always close his eyes when sing this song because this song is a hard song to sing for him because of all the emotion and stories that he put there .... you can check the live clip everytime he sing it he cry .. even in his concerts in 2019 yeaarrss and after hundreds time he sing it that's why this is one of the most difficult song to cover because you need that emotion to deliver it the right way. His newest song called lover is great too, and omg he's turning 40 something this year crazy right? He's so private that no one even paparazzi ever known about his private life, no gossip, no rumour, just him singing and he's a musical actor too he does some theatrical in Korea .. please react more to his song, our captain is the best singer ever!! Oh and he's known as 1 of the best singet in Korea like the god tier singer and there's 4 of them like the horsemen of the korean vocal😂

I liked that you mentioned the huge part Jung Jae il (pianist, friend and co-writer/composer) played. It is amazing what he accomplished too for his career. He's nowadays mostly known for beeing the Musical Director of the oscar winning Parasite movie, however he did so much songs together with Park Hyoshin... Can't get over it how most ppl refer to him as "that guy" :D

One of my favorite male singer of all time... He's even better live... The emotion he delivers, you can hear pin drop in the room full of hundreds of people... Wild flower was written after all sorts of hardship he endured... conned and lost most of his asset, losing his friend, legal issue with his company... This song was supposed to encourage him to stand up and start fresh... All of his live performance of this song end up with him crying due to emotions and memories of his darker days... The very first time when I heard this song I was doing grocery shopping at the super market in Seoul. I was completly frozen until the song was over. Hyoshin's song took me to the place I've never been. Later I found out Wild Flower was based on his own obstacles and he wrote the lyrics and composed the song with his two best friends. The fact that this is my favorite song in the whole Korean industry and I've heard it so much I can sing it with my eyes close, cry on the same spot, never able to hit the high note because I'm crying... That's how you know this man is singing from his very core. He went through a lot of shit on his 20's, almost died because his agency kept booking shit for him, they were not even giving him his fair share. I think he even sued and ended up paying thousands of dollars, big thousands. He declared bankruptcy and join the military and wrote this song from a fucking bathroom. Excuse my cussing, but this man was on edge, but he wrote a song about holding on and someday blooming again, so the song is not essentially about love. Is more about life, self-love maybe. You need to watch him sing this live and breakdown at the end because he wrote it from his own experience. I love this man so much and him, and many other artists are completely underrated, not in Korea though. He basically a god along with Sohyang, but in general, international fans are immersed in kpop too much, and I don't blame them. But like you said, Linton, this is that good stuff. His best friend committed suicide without note. After he lost best friend he went to military service. He was in the military service he wrote this song. Still I remembered he was carrying friend's coffin. Still he is singing this song.. he couldn't control his emotion. Sorry my English.

In general, this song is about his love for music. What I love about it is that it has deep meaning to him, but because he feels so deeply about it, you can literally remember all the things you loved deeply and had to go through this struggle for. His voice just carried the emotion of every human who loves a person, or loves something they do, and told everyone's story. I honestly always cry listening to this, and lives are even more powerful. I understand fully why he cries every time he sings this live, because I do.

He revered Luther Vandross while growing up. He did covers on Luther's 'Superstar', 'Hello', and etc. For 'Hello', he spent a year practicing the cover to get the sound and tone right. Yeah, you read that right. A year to fine-tune the cover. That's how dedicated he is to his craft. OH AND HIS LIVE PERFORMANCES ARE EVEN BETTER
