Well after watching this I went for a walk on Friday at Stalybridge country park and thankfully I was able to find jelly ears !! And quite yummy but when stir frying they started jumping like popcorn in the pan 😂

Revisiting local spot to hometown again today near Sevenoaks (borough green, biggups kent!) as not had any from there yet this year. However I did find some last month in the shires ! ( Grand union canal near daventry ) just off the towpath. Myself and partner are now narrowboat dwellers and videos like these are bringing us closer to our ideal of being fully wild and self sustainable too. Thankyou!

Borough Green massive! Is the skatepark still standing? I loved that park so much when I was in my early 20s, it looked and rode as though it was made out of particle board but it was so out in the sticks that it would always be empty! 🙌🏾

Central Scotland here, Ramsons are maybe an inch above the ground and still have some time to go but the Three Cornered Leek is slightly ahead and since it's invasive and covers everywhere in town around here I've been going batshit insane with it on omelettes in the morning.
@danniinthewild9 ай бұрын
Batshit insane 😆 haha yes the WG is so variable - in the local woodlands there is none to be seen but the big patch on my allotment is ready to start harvesting from now!

Good video, thanks Danni. As you asked: the ransoms in this bit of Cornwall and in north Somerset (where I went foraging yesterday) are scarcely further on than the ones you filmed for this video. However, here in Cornwall, the invasive three cornered leeks have been very abundant for weeks and make a good substitute for ransoms. At C. 7minutes, 40 seconds you showed a hefty clump of jelly ears ears on a tree that didn't look like elder, or "eller" in old west country speak; what tree species was it please?

I never knew Exidia glandulosa was edible! It's pretty common up here in Sweden.

Oh awesome! If you try it let me know what you think 😃

I preferred the non-pc name for jelly ears, but the jellytube police would delete my comment if I said it out loud 😂 Wanted to give you another 👍 for your closing shot, but I'd already done it at the start 😊
@danniinthewild9 ай бұрын
That’s what I used to call them 15 years ago! I think my first ever post about them on Instagram I was rightfully corrected to the politer name and I’ve been careful to use ‘jelly’ since! 🪼
