Germany’s best nature filmmakers spent five years collecting material for this unique view of Germany’s freshwater environments. With the help of state-of-the-art HD technology and extreme slow-motion footage of dragonflies and kingfishers, white-throated dippers and otters, they have put together a moving portrait of the watery landscapes and their inhabitants.

This was absolutely amazing- both the photography and the narration. Incredible. I knew I loved the Earth but this showed so many more beautiful aspects than I have ever seen before. Thank-you so much - so very grateful for all your time , expertise and efforts- from the US where so far we take much less care of our wild brothers and sisters- congratulations on populations generally expanding. Hopefully we'll catch up.

I've never heard an otter called a water marten before. They are both mustelids, but very different animals.

I love your videos, but sometimes the audio mixing is a bit off. Here in this video, the spoken audio is clearly heard over the ambient nature sounds and music. In previous docs, the spoken voice is sometimes hard to hear due to mixing issues and it is a bit off putting.

Germany's air is polluted by fine particles from coal power plants especially in the Ruhr region when France has been using nuclear power plants for 70 years with zero accidents and totally mastered safety. Coal power plants are the biggest killer in terms of fatality per kilo watt produced due to fine particles. If it wasn't for politics German should clean itself and import French nuclear technology.

World War 2. Germany wasn’t allowed to develop nuclear IT. History mate. Learn history of the world and why the world works the way it works. A true internationalists and loved of history. Born in Australia in 1967. Live on an apple orchard in Poland now

@@markportas2828 You are very presomptuous , before you spout generalized unwanted advice to someone, you may want to think twice about the logic of your thinking. I never said Germany should have developped nuclear science but that France has been using it safely for 70 years and given the well known deadly effect of coal plants, Germany could buy nuclear power from France. After all it is already buying Gas from Russia. And i know a whole lot about history than you think.

Not only beavers build their own home but so do termites, ants, spiders and many more.

Like badgers. If I was to be a wild animal I'd like to be one that builds a snug home like that than one like a deer that stands around in all weather 24/7.

Like the narrator said though, beavers build their own habitat, not just their home. They create the wetlands that their lodges are located in.
