Wild Horses Crossing a Snowy River in the Canadian Rockies

We met this band in the summer of 2022. The biggest band on Elk Flats. I’ll never forget that evening. The sun just beginning to set. The horses illuminated in soft light. The palomino mare who the night before had visited me in a dream. Her new foal was only about a month old at the time and her yearling colt was always close by. She was skin and bone when we first met her. Still feeding both of her babies, one on each side, love emanating from her being. A true matriarch. When we saw her again this spring I was so relieved to know that she had made it through the winter. And so had her two babies both still right by her side. She didn’t foal this year, natures knowing that her body needed a break. And now going into winter she’s looking strong and well. Leading her band majestically through the snow covered lands and icy glacial waters.

We're very in tune with the horses and what they're feeling. This particular band doesn't mind the drone at all.

Thank you so much for this. Superb filming! The aerial shots are awesome and then, bringing the camera more down to earth, shows us how deep and cold that river is. It's a big deal for those horses to cross that water - they have to tread very carefully - and your film really conveys that. Good job!!
