My mother loved this song. She died unexpectedly in her sleep. After the funeral my brother, his family and mine drove up to the Grand Canyon to scatter her ashes after we were done and started to drive out of the park my wife says "We should have played her favorite song as you guys scattered her ashes, what was it? Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones I replied. We had some small talk for a few minutes then she turned on the radio and Wild horses started to play. Me, my wife and our two teenagers started to sob uncontrollably so much so that I had to pull over. My brother who was following in the car behind us must have thought that I wanted to say something so he pulls up next to my vehicle rolls down his passenger window but before he could say a word I just turned the radio up. I'll never forget the look of pure anguish he had, You've never seen two grown men cry as hard as we did.We all felt her in that moment she was saying good bye.

This song reminds me of my mom, who loved it. She died on March 27th, 2023 of heart failure alone in her bed. We didn't expect it at all. She hadn't told us that her aorta was 90% clogged. She raised my two siblings and I alone. I've been a mama's girl for over 40 years. We just had her celebration of life the day before last. I miss her very much. 😢

11 years ago my father died in my house in my arms while I was performing CPR. After, me and my brother were cleaning out his room we put one of his old records and when Wild Horses came on My 5 closest friends walked into the room and started to cry. We were overwhelmed with emotions and couldn’t help but cry. This song will forever remind me of the day my dad died and the friends that came that day to make it feel better. What an incredibly sustainable song this is. The Rolling Stones Goats Head Soup, is the first Album that I ever bought, and now 45 years later, I have to listen to this cut like it is the first time that I heard it. I'm saddened by all of those in the comment section who have lost their Loved ones, but at least they see the beauty and tranquility that this song brings to them. My in laws were with us and they had never seen wild horses before.
