I am an Icelander and I just want to say thank you to you as a tourist for actually paying attention in Reynisfjara and not be stupid. Way to many people don't respect the sea and that can be deadly. So thank you.

Lots of good info in this one Brendan. As a former navy rescue swimmer, I definitely know how dangerous those waves can be! Also, I really think you wanted to start your diet now, but you let those Icelandic hot-dogs convince you to wait until Thailand...

Been watching a few of your recent Iceland videos, can't believe how busy it is there now! I found that canyon a few years ago, there were no paths or metal platforms (or beiber), it actually reminded me of oblivion which they shot a lot of in Iceland. Incredible country with lots to explore and stunning scenery, worth going the extra mile to find things off the beaten tracks or visit at quiet times of the year (if they still exist over there) particularly with a group, guess I've always been lucky with beaches and waterfalls all to myself!

I can vouch for that beach, I was about 15-20 feet away from the water edge (where previous waves hand been going) doing a long exposure when all of a sudden a was waist deep in water, it came from nowhere. So keep yourself and the your gear safe by keeping it a long way from the water.. fantastic place though :)

I was at that beach a few weeks ago. The worst wind I’ve ever felt in my life. Some kid got blown over and his mom had to grab him. Crazy. Gale force winds!

Brendan, I'd love to know more about what your file organization structure looks like in lightroom (or whichever platform you use). I find using keywords works well but is very tedious, but my structure of year:location:subject which is easy at first, isn't that effective to use if I forget where I shot something. What do you use? A 60 second bit on this would be awesome!

backing up is also possible via android phone to installed extra micro sd card via otg and then to a usb stick if you got no laptop around , android tablet will do the same job . other posibilities are wireless working hdds or wireless working sd readers , but they are slow and raw files or video will take a long time to transfer. And be aware to do on cam and on backup a new folder per day ;-) . that helps a lot . can also buy an ssd or nvme and put it in enclosure to have a 1tb stick or usb driven ssd for super cheap . and fast if you can use usb 3.1 or 3.0

Great advice on backing up - but what would you do in the event of not being able to carry a laptop? I am off to a Kenyan location in December carrying two Panasonic GH4/5 and a GoPro but nor room for a laptop. Not sure what to do about backing up!
