The last time I checked, USG were running away with the title and were far above Club brugge, how did club brugge cover such a huge points gap?

Points get halved in the play-offs , Union played very bad in the play-offs (for the third year in a row) and Club didn't lose one game (3 draws , 7 wins). It's an unfair system , everyone in Belgium thinks so. But it does make for a very exciting title race , second year in a row three clubs still were able to become champions on the last day.
