I’ve watched a half dozen or so of these puddling butterfly videos; this is my favorite. Thank you for posting.

How often should this be changed or refreshed?

I realize your comment is older, but for anyone else wondering, I’ve seen that you have to rehydrate the sand every few days to a week or so, and change out maybe monthly.

Once a month.

In Scotland I think that the dish will overfill regularly. My only idea is the put the mix to the top level of the dish, then when it overfills it will flow out over the top of the dish. The epsom salts will get washed away though. Has anyone any solutions/ideas/experience related to this problem?

Can you use play (sandbox) sand? or what kind is best?

Does the salt need to be epsom salt? Or can it be something different?
@knyghtryder3599 Жыл бұрын
Epsom is the best and is cheap and available , other salts just use a way smaller amount , what did you have in mind?
@denisef11535 ай бұрын
Just use the Epsom salts. Very cheap and you get it at your local drug or food store where the bath soaps are. A whole bag is like $2 OR less I go to the beach and grab some sea water and seaweed. I have plenty of sand as I live in FL
