Hi Pete, board 3. I took Q of Cl and played a spade over to lead a heart to the K. After that I tested spades to be 3-3 and continued hearts. As they broke 3-3, I had 3 spades, 4 hearts, 2 cl and 2 diamonds. Entrees all over the place 🙂

What is the recommended way to play board 6 single dummy? Finesse against J of diamonds seems right since the 9 may be later used as entry to spade tricks but what's next?
@rainerherrmann70258 ай бұрын
Playing a club next from dummy looks right. Unless East is an expert defender it seems unlikely that the Jack of clubs would be played without East having the king of clubs as well. Given the bidding the opening lead is strange and also points to that East was reluctant to lead clubs because he has the king as well. If this analysis is correct, you can not avoid that East will gain the lead and to make the contract you must hope that East has the ace of hearts or that the hearts are blocked. Duck the jack of clubs to preserve entries to hand and dummy. You have 2 club tricks (with the marked finesse), 4 diamond and 3 spade tricks.

Somehow I was at 87.5% at the halfway point (1NTS+1, 6CE-1, 3NTS+1, 3DW-3) but got complacent and ended up at 61.2%. Have to play ALL the boards ;) It was a wild set, though!

Bd 5, first I doubled, west jumped to 2♠️, passed around to me. Then I jumped to 6♥️. My partner interpreted this as showing spades(!) and bid 6♠️. I panicked and bid 7♥️, then partner bid 7♠️! I should have bid 7NT but was so flustered I just passed. Lesson is, always read the bid description!

Same thing happened to me. Was a surprise!

I got a lucky 100% on board 3 coz I accidentally doubled 1D instead of bidding my spades. West bid 2C, North bid 2H and East, totally unreasonably, bid 2S with only 4 spades. I doubled, showing biddable spades according to the bid description. After 2 passes, East bid 3D, which I doubled again (bid description says biddable diamonds but idc at this point). It went down 3 and I scored +800.

I'm so glad you also doubled them in 5C on board 2 - everybody else was bidding on - normally both 5 level contracts are going 1 off.

LOL, I ended up in 6Sx which turned out to be a good sac.

On board 5 I thought: I don't know how to get relevant info from partner. I'll just bid slam and learn the proper way to bid it when I watch Pete's video. Haha Would you have bid it another way with a human partner?
@BridgeWithPete8 ай бұрын
I don't see how.

I bid 2NT (two lowest) and raised 3H to 6H. I would have raised 3D to 5D since that suit is shakier.

I bid 2NT, then cue bid 3S. Pd tries to sign off, so I cue bid 4S. Over which he makes the less-than-helpful cue of 5S. Thankfully he passed 6H.

I tried to double first to show a stronger hand. West jumped in with 2 spades and partner passed. I then bid 6 hearts, that showed 4 Hearts and 4 Spades apparently so partner bid 6 spades even with West having bid the suit. After 7 Hearts by me partner bid 7 spades and I went 4 down in 7 NT :(

@@tormolin6761 I also doubled first then bid 6H, but over 6S I bid 7D which got passed out, going 2 off. Amazing that if you just bid 6H immediately partner passes, whereas if you double first the robot makes a silly bid and you get into trouble!
