I don’t drink except for holidays and special celebrations, but I enjoy your content for two reasons: you two are passionate and honest and the way you guys are just hanging out, enjoying each other’s company is always a pleasure to observe. You have similar tastes but different preferences and nobody is wrong when it comes to their opinions. Your interactions are similar to that of a step dad (Curt) coming into the picture during Trenton’s adolescence and has been a great role mode, treating each other with respect and showing him how to mature respectfully. Stay humble, gentlemen, and continue doing things you enjoy doing. It’d be disappointing if the show were to come to an end because it stopped being fun for you guys, but how could that really upset a true fan?

This was an export release for foreign markets. Here in Taiwan, there is an annual 400 bottle limit for the country (I don't know how many for Japan but I heard it's more). This is a really solid bottle due to the 50.5%abv(won't be boring for whisky drinkers) coupled with the 12 year age statement that rounded out the rough edges. I prefer my whisky with delicate and subtle notes; this definitely delivers and helps show what a bourbon can do. I pour a dram of this when introducing someone to solid American bourbon.

I live in Australia and we got a very limited supply of this in the last few months, allocation was way under what the distributor initially thought. I believe it was released in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Australia. RRP in Australia was $125 or about $80 USD. Retailers increased that massively because of the interest in the bottle. I managed to get one bottle and have had a sample it is great stuff. For people in the USA I doubt many Australian bottles can get sent to you because sending alcohol bottles directly from Australia to USA is prohibited for some reason. We are hoping some more comes in another shipment to Australia like when we got a second shipment of MK One earlier this year but who knows.

Hi guys, Great video! BTW, I just bought a bottle of Long Branch - It says Wild Turkey on the neck of the bottle. I think it is delicious. The clerk in the store knew nothing about it. There are two signatures on the label: Matthew McConaughey and Eddie Russell and imprinted on the bottle it says "Small batch - Aged in American Oak - Expertly Crafted" It is apparently aged 8 years, although it doesn't say that on the bottle. I also got 3 bottles of WT 81 for $21.00 total price.

I have found that I prefer the Wild Turkey to the Russell's, the regular 101 and the Russell's 10 yr. Never had the pleasure of going up the ladder of each. Wild Turkey 101 Rye is my favorite daily drinker. And, there is generally some Old Forester in the cabinet also, at least the 100 Proof ($21 at our local Costco). Really enjoy both of you and your matter-of-fact reviews. Keep putting out those videos!

I got a bottle of this from Korea. Holy $h1t is crazy good. Had the Russell’s 13 at a bar and agree, totally different. This 101 12yr is oak, then caramel goodness. I tried it next to rare breed and nothing alike. All the “wild cherry” is gone for oak. Crazy this is out of WT. impressed!

I'm surprised no one but you mentions the Rare Breed. So if Rare Breed has 6, 8 and this 12 year bourbon in the blend (I mean, how much 12 yr does it really have?). Is the 101 12yr worth twice the price of Rare Breed?
@slyder88582 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was surprised too. My understanding is that as the barrels get older they lose some proof, and I would guess this 12yr 101 probably has some stuff older as, At least for my pallet, it went more oaky. But I really love oak so it was great! I’ll be curious as it opens up if the classic turkey notes come stronger. I just happened upon it, and felt it was a unique bottle to spend the money on. If your a bottle hunter it’s a cool one to have, but rare breed is still the best bang for the buck hands down. Or a russles 110proof pick all day!

Hey guys, love the direction of the show. Lots of cool comparisons and reviews. One of the reasons I subscribed to this channel (I think back below 5k subscribers) was because of what you're doing now with reviews, but also because of cocktail recipes. I'd love to see some more of those mixed into the rotation. What are your go-to fall rye or bourbon cocktails? What do you serve when guests come over for the holidays? I realize that there are other channels that do this kind of thing, but I always appreciated your input. Again, I appreciate what you're doing, but I do miss some of the other elements.

Have to say I really like the Wild Turkey and really can't stand Beam, although I've not tried too many high end Beam products, although I don't mind Knob Creek I need to try 101 but when it is $15 more than Rare Breed I'm not going to buy any of that. For the past month I've been getting plain old Wild Turkey for $24 (use mostly as a mixer and love it with ginger ale) and Rare Breed... for some crazy reason Rare breed lately is $39 but 101 is something like $45+ I never was a rye person but the way Turkey does their rye I really like it... Being from Canada I think I got burned out of rye as there are some ok ones but a lot of crap heavy in rye that put me off it.... that said I am not a fan of sipping Bulleit but I love it in a mix... guess I need more rye in mixed drinks

Now that our boys are all grown and out of the house I am allowing myself to expand my collection as my one vice to spend money on. Because of this I am now looking of course for harder to find bottles and realizing that you need a network of people in the know to even have a chance at finding them. Unfortunately in my area there are very few liquor stores that have even a good to great regular shelf selection let alone the ability to produce special bottles and I'm not even talking about rare special bottles. So my very important question to you guys is where is a good place to find honest information about locations that I will have a better chance of finding better bottles? I have found that there tend to be some nefarious characters hanging out on reputable message boards and bourbon enthusiast sites trying to arrange sales of "quality" bottles over the internet. I have never been in will never be easy with doing business this type of way and would also prefer the adventure of seeking out and picking up said bottles in person. Any information you could provide in better methods of finding quality stores or networks of honest people willing to help would be appreciated. I am an avid wild turkey drinker and the bottles you have shown on this episode as well as all the Masters Keep releases are very high on my list.
