This male Wild Turkey was wandering through the new Smolenski Park prairie restoration this evening. Occasionally gobbling and showing off its feathers. This small 15 acre prairie has already provided habitat for so much life in just its first couple years. It goes to show that every acre counts, and the more we restore, the more wildlife we'll get to see!
I have a native garden in my yard for this very reason. While 1000 square feet of native plants isn't the same as large habitat restorations, it still provides a small space in my yard for wildlife to find food and shelter.
