Surprised not to see this in anyone’s top 10 of the year. This was by far my best new release, and one of the best Ryes I’ve had. Every rye I’ve compared it to so far has come up short.

Late to the game, but I just got a bottle today. This stuff is fantastic! I'm getting a ton of black tea on the palate and mint on the finish. I like it a lot! Theres definitely a hug, but I feel like it drinks way less proofy than it is.

Funny you had to come to NC to grab this. I've already seen it at multiple ABC stores so I figured it was readily available. I've asked others how this matches up against Pikesville and the general consensus is the Rare Breed is better. I really like the Rare Breed Rye, but have no Pikesville on hand. I've been thinking this combination could make a good flight fight of similar proof and price. All NC prices below. Wild turkey is already a higher Rye mash bourbon so it's surprising to see it at a barely legal rye. I would have expected a little higher percentage to try and set it apart from their bourbons

That rye hits my sweet spot. Don't know about you, but it tastes of apricots to me. For my money, I'd drink this over Pikesville any day of the week.

Very little nose on either of these as compared to the Rare Breed Bourbon or say an Elijah Craig from Heaven Hill. Nice spice on the Pikesville. Bland and muted dried fruit notes on the Rare Breed. Kinda disappointed after hunting the bottle for a couple months. Pikesville wins for my personal palate.

Everything these days seems either high proof or limited edition. What happened to every day bottles that those of us in other parts of the world can buy? This stuff isn't interesting if I can't taste it, and high proof is way overdone.

Buy 101 Rye and add a dash of water. Really good! But not as good as this Rare Breed Rye! It's awesome (and better than Pikesville, which I also like).
