In my opinion, the Saints 2012 season solidifies Brees' greatness more than any other season in his career. No Sean P, an inconsistent running game, and one of the worst defenses in NFL history.....and he spearheaded them to playoff contention with 2 weeks left in the season. That's one of the most underrated single-season accomplishments ever. It also shows how special that passing was!!!!! He had some amazing weapons to throw to!

This season Romo had the 31st ranked run game (worst cowboys run game in over 50 years), a terrible oline, a receiving core that was playing injured the first half of the season causing about 8-10 ints alone from drop pop ups and wrong routes, and a defense that was playing about the same level as new Orleans worst in nfl history defense the last 8 games. And still went 8-8. 2013 cowboys team was even worse, and Romo went 8-7. Where Romo threw 17-3 td-int in those 7 losses. Both better records than what Brees had, just saying.

lol didn’t we set an nfl record for most yards allowed by a defense in a single season? Lmfao our d was shit, it’s a shame because our offense was lit this year. Brees threw for 5000 yards for the second year in a row. Then in 2013 he did it again. We were loaded on offense. We coulda been a playoff team if The bountygate shit didn’t happen. Or we woulda missed it anyway because that year the sb was in our own dome and teams with home field in the sb never make it lol
@theinvictussamaritan47785 жыл бұрын
WyattBDV Mickey Loomis and Payton almost wasted Brees’ prime from 2008-2016 with just the worst defenses. Coulda of had at least 3 Super Bowls appearances by now.
@wyattbdv5 жыл бұрын
The InvictusSamaritan could have more if we haven’t constantly had our defenses screwing us out of the playoffs. We would’ve won the super bowl in 2011. For sure. No doubt. And we could’ve made an appearance in 2017. We would’ve won it in 2018 also (not the defenses fault in fact our d played great in that game). But yeah ur kinda right. We had lots of busts in that D

I don't know if you're riding on dak right now but he was 0-4 in drives where we needed to.win or tie on yhe last drive. He couldn't pull through. Not even on a depleted eagles secondary. Dak has the best support around him. Look at his arsenal at wr rb and the OL all elite. No excuses. But cool 2nd in yards right behind jameis winston good for him. Garbage time made dak think he's worth 40 mil and is showing his true colors. Selfish asshole could be making 33 mil with those same weapons along with Mike McCarthy. But he chooses himself over his team.

While Cowboy haters trip over themselves calling Romo a "choker" the truth is that he had one of the _top 3 rankings of all time_ for comebacks and for 4th quarter rating. So the team didn't dominate in playoffs, and there were games like this where Brees, Peyton, or Rodgers prevailed. Is that on Romo? He put up Hall of Fame numbers, and his win-loss record as a starter is all time top ten. Check for yourself. He didn't quite pull off this game, but for each of these there are dozens of others people overlook.

Was that Rob Ryans defense for the Cowboys? His blitzes never hit home and theres always a TE or WR just wide open without a defender within 30 yards. You could drive a Semi truck through his run defense no wonder hes unemployed. The Romo years were pretty exciting tho they had some wild finishes. DET twice, GB comeback with Matt Flynn, Monday night against Buffalo to name a few.
@TG-ld8hl2 ай бұрын
You really just have to appreciate the Cowboys’ defensive gameplan in this one. I mean, to come up with the strategy of getting 0 pressure, but also play horrible coverage, while also missing multiple tackles per play? That’s innovation right there.

The Cowboys secondary during Romos career was so unbelievably pitiful for years. The only time they really tried to fix it was in 2012 when they signed Brandon Carr and then traded up into the top 10 to get Claiborne. He was a bust, and Brandon Carr was even worse..
