I went to high school in a LAUSD school in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was never taught anything about the mistreatment and vigilante killings of Chinese people in Los Angeles. Sad that this was not taught to high school students at that time.

Linda you were never taught it, because that part of history was not part of public school required curriculum. I also attended high school in the late 70s in the LAUSD. We were only taught World History, and US History. State, and local history was never taught in the LAUSD. Especially a horrible incident that happened on Calle De Los Negros (Street of the Blacks) in LAs dark history in 1871, LAUSD educators would never consider. But I believe acts of gun violence will continue happen, as long as ignorance plagues our society. I don't support fully automatic firearms sold in our country, Americans just don't need them. But there are those sick knuckleheads who're always willing to buy their new toys... such idiots. Cpl. Cano Honorably Discharged U.S. Marine Corps Veteran

@Dat boy Gaming It's a crazy World... My family avoided any U.S. Government registration for fear of death and/or Indigenous forced relocation. Ironically, my great grandparents were of "Chumas-Tong-va (Grandma Rhea's side, & Japanese, on grandpa Wasuke side". Lacking United States acknowledgement through the BIA I'm blessed to know my heritage. God/Creator bless us all...

Look up the New Mexico politician Octaviano Larrazolo, a republican. There are huge amounts that did not go through anything as you say. In the old times Anglos always married Mexican women because they were wealthy and had land. Also many Mexican men had American wives. Many of the Anglos in the southwest have Mexican ancestors. Yes and if you’re white and becoming the majority population it is considered a negative example of racial dominance. Remember the lefts narrative now is that white peoples = bad. You are a racist if you’re white even if you don’t know it. So if you tell a lie long enough, people begin to believe it. This is the brain washing the left wing Demonrats used to take over a prosperous country. It doesn’t matter your race. You come to America for freedom and opportunity. It should not be about dividing people based on race ethnicity religion. America is an idea not about ethnicity. If race is injected, remember that there is something more sinister going on.

@@matthewrudolph3514 What a stupid comment. Just as the comment you replied to. Human history is awash with atrocities of all sorts. White-on-white atrocities, white-on-other races atrocities, other races-on-white atrocities, other races-on-other races atrocities. You name it. Ignoring the fact that LA has become multi-ethnic is stupid. Just because LA history happens to be stained with white-on-other races violence doesn't mean the show is trying to portray whites as evil. Every society on the planet has skeletons in the closet. Deal with it

Why does the narration continuously use the term Chinamen? The Asian American historian doesn't use the term, he used the term Chinese Men to refer to the victims of that racist society they faced. If there is a story about African Americans in a different period, your narrators would NOT continuously refer to black people as the N words. Do not use derogatory terms today KCET even if you think its safe, its not.
