Here it is, folks. The first episode of our Wild Atlantic Way tour of Ireland in the early summer of 2018.
We scrambled much of the crew together at the end of May, and headed over to Ireland, for the first time. WHAT a place! This beautiful island just gets nicer, and nicer.

So I was fishing around for V Strom review's and came across Richys video. I then caught some of the camp ground vids and subscribed. I just finished the Wild Bad USA tour series, what an epic tour that one was! Now I am on this series. Great channel! You guys remind me of my touring group,same kinda guys. Look forward to the rest of this series and many more. After a 2 year lay off from touring you guys have inspired me to get back on the horse so to speak. Toured the south of Ireland over four days in Aug 06, Beautiful place, instant change of scenery round the next corner. One thing I did notice out in the countryside, they all had really good drives.

I grew up in Northern Ireland, on the Antrim coast just North of Larne. We moved to Australia in 1968, went back for a look in 2008, went to the rope bridge, Giant's causway (never been there even though we lived close) Used to go to the NW200 Ulster GP, anyhow enjoyed the video & subscribed

Totally agree richy I had a weeks work in NI early December I was all over the north so I made a little tour out of it . Its not quite as much fun in a transit van as would be on the bike but what a beautiful place NI is. I visited all the same places you did in this vid and some you'll no doubt have visited later in the tour I too got to the car park for the footbridge but didn't have time to walk up to it got a photo from a carpark further down the coast road tho maybe next time. Stunning place can't wait to get back on 2 wheels. Looking like it's gonna be another top WB tour 👍

Catching up on your vids as you know Rich if you have seen my comments in the previous vid, and Dad was from Tipperary (which is a fair old way :-) That was an awesome 58 minute watch from your Dad's roof terrace all he way through. You are in the BEST company when you are drinking with an Irishman - and Martin is a star. I just saw this one now, which was somehow recommended to me in my Cairo isolation den. Clearly, "Big Brother" has noticed a trend. This was straight after two hours Facetime with the whole family - round all at ours for a birthday lunch in Glos - after the relaxation of the rules. Holey Smokeroonies Batchap - that's from TOMORROW - Monday. Holyshyte - I hope they don't get arrested - and even if they do - I can't piggin' well get there to visit :-) .God love Joey Dunlop Richy.. For sure - the NICEST, most humble guy EVER to be a real star in motorsport, except possibly Sir Sterling, God rest him. However, I was much more a follower of his Honda Britain Team Mate - (Rocket Ron) back in the day . They were both massive heroes. Joey's family were shredded by motorcycle fatalities, and I can;t really even think about their parents as a parent myself. How TF did they cope ?. Would not say too much in public but I own one of their winning CB1100R's, a proud part of my retirement garage bits and pieces. Keep pumpin' em out mate. Cheers Richy lad

God's own country my family live in ballymoney and surrounding area, I go over every year for the nw200 never get board of the coast road up to Larne and back it helps when most of me cousin's are bikers as well, and what great weather over the years I would say only about three times the weather's been that good, never seen dark hedges that busy. He said in his previous vid he lost a lot of footage from the start of this tour so he hoped what was saved from the other cameras would make a good film. I think he did a great job so I am betting that any Causeway footage may have been part of what was lost.

I'm going touring next spring but I'm intending to buy another bike as my old zx9 isn't going to be best suited with the higher miles per day. I'm looking at either a vfr, a pan euro 1300 or a BMW RT or GS. I've had an 1100 RT before and it was ok but uninspiring so it will be a 1200 BMW variant. Have you ridden any of the other bikes? I'd like to hear your thoughts 👍👍 Cheers Martin

I’ve ridden the GS plenty. Superb machine, really is. Never had the pleasure of an RT or the Pan before. A lot of love for the Pan, and also the FJR1300. You thought of that?

@@RichyVida I wasn't too keen on the FJR, although I know they are very well thought of. It seemed a bit top heavy to me and that was without luggage. I believe the battery is high up in the fairing which possibly doesn't help 👍👍
