Hi. I'm a 54-year old woman sitting on my sofa in a warm, dry home, and drinking a hot cup of tea. I'm enjoying watching your winter adventures of hunkering down under sheets of nylon to protect you from wind, rain and cold. You have a great, indomitable and resilient spirit which I admire as I'm not a camper and really hate the cold. It's amazing to see you winter camping in the wide-open spaces of the British countryside. I get my outdoor 'fix' vicariously through watching your pursuits, so thanks for bringing us this 'mini 'adventure'. :)

what a fantastic video. Stuck in hospital, ive been binge watching your adventures. If I were a few years younger and without this chronic lung disease, I would be doing exactly the same. Although, I have had my fair share of camping adventures, when I was kicked out of the care system when I was 17 and instead of being on the streets, I managed to obtain a tent. That little two man served me for over 2 years, camping in various places in all weathers. If it wern't for that tent keeping me out of the elements, I doubt I would be here now. I look forward to your next adventure. Just stay safe.

Heyy, so sorry you're in hospital and having health issues. I'm so glad you've got to experience your own adventures too. I think that's part of it for me, I want to do as much as I can while my body will let me. I can't seem to do as much distance as many others can do but I love my lil jaunts. I was in the system when I was 17 too, I was in homeless hostels from 16 for a couple of years while I did my A-levels. I only managed to get out of it by taking out a massive loan to go to university (which im still paying off now age 39 haha, and I never did put my degree to any use). Sorry to hear you ended up in a tent. Its fun to go camping but living that way must be really hard. Hope you're feeling better soon 💚 thanks for watching my lil video

@@townstunsltd6727 I really wish I could. But, these respiratory issues would stop me before I got to the end of the road lol I have Bronchiectasis, Emphysema and bits of lungs missing and now major prostrate problems coupled with blood infections. Which is why I spend so much time in this place, staring at the ceiling. It's heart breaking, missing so much time with my wife and children. Some people don't realise how depressing hospital can be, especially on long stints. Like my previous admission was 14 weeks. I'm 51 years old now, and am grateful that the various medical people keep me ticking over. But sometimes, just sometimes I get to the point where I've had enough. Hence why I watch these videos. They certainly lift my mood. Thanks though for your comments and support, it's appreciated.

I explored that area for the first time back in December 2023 - there was warm air pouring out of some of those mine adits! I decided there were probably sleeping dragons down there so moved on somewhere else ;-) I was also slightly traumatised by the 'big hole' 😀. Doubt you'll see this comment, but on the off chance you do, there's another small mine in the area where they've done some re-creation to show how some of it worked - definitely worth a trip if you go to that area again - there's also a bit of the river you'd enjoy a paddle in I'm sure. Oh and yes the winter has been bl**dy miserable here in Wales - starting to see a bit of sun now in April, but it's c-o-l-d.

@@WildBeare the mountains do care. we are all one in nature. the mountains knows you are there and they release their spirit with you. same with the trees, streams, lakes. their spirit walks with you. you walk and at times you may feel like you are not alone (you aren't) but that is because nature walks and talks to you. the animals are natures children to make their presence known. when you walk out of nature you may get a feeling of, wow that was great. that is because nature has been whispering to you constently telling you, look at this, explore that. it is showing you her beauty. once she knows you are part of her, you will feel peace and awe. rain will be easier to put up with, wind will clear air and tension you did not know you had until you awaken and feel at rest and at peace. nature gives up herself only to those that open up. no agendas, no plans, no i have to be out of here in minutes, hours, the next day, hurry, no time to lenger. the world is great but you have to rececptive to it. remember nature is a liveing entity. dead trees feed the ground to create other liveing thing. rocks protect earth areas so it does not erode. fields let the wind carry seeds, clear air. if you always know that nature is alive, forest (not just trees), mountains (not just rocks) steams (not just water) she will give all of herself up for your brief moment. enjoy, look, breath, remember. live.

Love watching your videos, although ~0°C would be impossibly cold for me now! Anything under 25°C and I freeze. We still regularly "go camping" but we go on a boat and hang out on deserted tropical islands with nothing but monkeys and the stars for company. Hello Claire.. That is the beauty of not planning. It is the not knowing that makes the heart so much clearer. i have not planned anything yet but cooking out has to be the way i go. I am building a new shelter in my garden so as i can sleep out as if in the wilds. I have sunken a fire pit so I can cook.Maybe my dreams will mature into something for me... Regards Mick... Chef-on-the-wild-side,,,,, X

Everything about this video is so beautiful, I love the colors and the crisp cool temperatures in the early spring and late fall, I would give anything if it looked here where I live the way it looks there, the landscape there is almost as pretty as CB🥰 love the tent it must be a real joy in those temperatures.

Always like watching your content. Some 40 years back I did a special walk from Berlin to Beijing. I had to get special permission due to the transit visas being only 11 days. It took me 1 1/2 years and I walked 6.5 km with a detour or two to see some friends. It was cold! The coldest was -60degC I am now too old to do such things but the memories will always be with me! I used to say 'Just get out and do it!'.

Loved that adventure! I also noticed your Hilleberg tent and checked out your test video. It's on my wishlist for a bad weather tent now. I was really happy with my UL Gear Lanshan 2 tent. Great value for money. Recently, my girlfriend demonstrated her 15 year old Hilleberg Nallo 3. That's a tent almost 10 times the price, but it oozes so much quality. Built like a tank and only a little bit heavier. It's a breeze to pitch in a storm too, in contrary to my little Lanshan.

Where do I start. Wow. What an amazing hike. I am honestly jealous of how much you get out, how many adventures you go on and so many beautiful sights you get to see. To just walk and see where you end up with no plan is fantastic. You are such an inspiration to all people of all ages to just get out and try it. You are courageous and confident, adventurous and independent. Your spirit and view on life is warming to the soul. All your videos have a message within them. Good and bad. Thank you so much for taking us all on your journey with you. Keep up the wonderful work Claire. 🏕🏕

You've become a remarkable adventurer, Claire. Navigating bogs and scree, climbing higher, and displaying the grit of a warrior. Walking off into the wild is always better than some tourist daytrip. I went off into the Scottish Highlands for 6 months straight exploring the deepest ancient forests and climbing endless hills and mountains. I saw things no one had likely seen for a long time. Though there were always occasional traces of people. I went deep into one very old dark forest and within it's depths was some kind of old rusted metal barrel all crumpling in on itself. Another forest on the other side of the Highlands, this forest was on a steep rock slope; but climbing up to a flat ledge not far from a small waterfall for fresh water I pitched my tent. And beside the tree I chose was an old gas can for a little camp stove. Someone had used that exact spot! So deep in the middle of nowhere, lost from people. I videoed the whole 6 months, but i'm far too lazy to edit that into a million videos, aha.

You don`t do things by halves, do you! No-one could ever describe you as a "fair-weather" camper! The night sky shots were brilliant - we have had some impressive Northern Light shows this winter too- nothing like it. By the way, the notice on your website warning of scammers - I have been "invited" to contact you on two occasions, and of course, I did not respond, but I hope other followers of your adventures don't get caught. Keep the videos coming Claire!
