BACK OUT WITH THE LADS, WE WENT ON A MISSION TO FIND A PITCH IN THE HENHOLE, PARTLY TO ESCAPE THE WIND AND PARTLY BECAUSE WERE DAFT. IT WAS REALLY WINDY UNTIL 9PM ISH, THEN IT EASED A BIT. REALLY CHILLY IN THE MORNING BUT WE SLEPT WELL.
A GOOD NIGHT HAD BY ALL..

The new tent looked almost like a Bivi Bad form to have an additional hole. Good crack, sound back on track. A nice selection of beers 🍻 Thanks for letting us come along.

Hey andy thanks so much for these videos you and others inspired me to take up Wild Camping this year and i love it. I attempted The Hen Hole / College Valley last weekend but i ended up having to walk from Hethpool car park and with all the weight in my backpack i struggled to get to the Peak and ended up throwing the tent up between the valleys. I totally misjudged how far that road was from the car park!. I was wondering when you did it, did you just get a car park pass for Colleage Valley? If so where did you park?. I would love to do it again but would rather have more energy for the peaks etc than walking that horrible long road from Hethpool!. Thanks.

Ha. That’s the rite of passage that road. You have to do it at least once. Go to the college valley website and get a pass for mounthooley. It’s £10 but lets you park there overnight and no road of doom to walk. Well done on getting out though. 👍 Atb

Great camp in a great location, why use the tarp when you had a hooped bivy ? A cover over the stuff would do, then less wet stuff to carry out, then big tarps get heavy with all the water, We are so lucky to have the likes of the hen hole in the Cheviots Cheers Keep em coming

It had been raining and the wind was wild. I used the tarp so we could cook behind it. It was relentless. It’s all dry now and bagged up nice. 😂 doesn’t take much. Yeah it’s an amazing spot like. Atb 👍

just curious marra, but why does condensation appear on tents, and even on a tarp?

Temperature drop If it’s hot during the day then the temperature drops (dew point) you’ll get condensation. Doesn’t matter the tent tarp shelter. I got condensation on my snugpak bivvi once. I laugh when people say it’s only hilleberg tents that get it.

When i looked down the hen hole i had a feeling it was too steep to walk up, Next time go via Braydon Crags its a good spot and worth the effort, i Had an indian night with three chopped chillis in and a nan bread, Chocolate and whiskey all to me sen lol, slept like a log and had a lie in
