In a truly historic moment, wildcard Moana Jones Wong won the 2022 Billabong Pro Pipeline, the first-ever full-length women's Championship Tour event at surfing's ultimate proving ground. Squaring off against five-time World Champ Carissa Moore in the Final, the Pipeline local got to work early and never looked back. Can Moana repeat the win and hang on to the crown of being the Queen of Pipeline?
As the epicenter of the surf universe and the birthplace of the sport, it’s only right for Pipeline to kick off the Championship Tour. Everyone enters the season with equal hopes of winning it all. The rookie class is thrown into the fire, the contenders return with one thing on their minds, and the surf world begins to follow the road to the Rip Curl WSL Finals. Pipeline sets the tone.

@@JeremiahAlphonsus Yet many Male surfers called her wave, the wave of the day, maybe even the wave of the year. I think majority of male surfing is pathetic compared to other male extreme sports like snowboarding, skateboarding, bmx, etc. Where's the aerials, flips, flairs, etc on tour? At least a few of the woman can hang with the boys and they are surfing pipe now. Woman's pro surfing is like womans soccer. It's watchable IMO. WNBA is truly terrible tho.
