Wilderness Adventure with my Dog (BEAR ATTACK) | SHED TOUR 2022

Searching the big woods for moose antlers with Gracie. Shed hunting for moose antlers is the venue that allows me to work with my dog Gracie, she's a 9 year old labrador retriever. In 2018 I began filming my adventures with Gracie for my own personal records and I decided to share it on this channel. Shed hunting is what made us a team and has provided us with many adventures. It has been therapeutic for me which is why I'm soo passionate about it.
In this video we set out for an adventure with food and supplies to camp overnight for up to two weeks. We found some big brown moose paddles, camped in a hot tent with a wood stove, cooked over a campfire with a reflector oven and enjoyed the sights and sounds of spring including the wildlife. This trip abruptly ended when Gracie encountered a bear and was injured. #backcountryadventure #themainewoods #wildernesscamping

There's soo much anticipation leading up to a find when doing this with a dog. That level of anticipation is not there when riding a snow mobile looking for them or walking around without a dog.

Bro, I couldn't imagine going through that with Gracie. I couldn't imagine a lower feeling than that. You did a great job. Your actions helped save her life! No doubt she'll be sore for a while. Lesser quality ones are great candidates for dog chews, big industry and a lot of sheds end up as chews. Nice paddles, whitetail sheds are popular for carving. I’m sure he sells a bunch of them, but probably keeps tons as well. You have to be pretty good/dedicated to make money shed hunting, but he clearly puts in the work.

Way to go finding all the sheds. Thankfully Gracie is ok. You might want to carry a firearm for encounters like that. I realize the Bear is just protecting it's young but I'd rather have to explain to the Wardens why I shot a Bear than lose my dog.

You don't carry a firearm on your shed hunts? WE had one kill somebody in the southern Smokies not long ago. One tore in my house several years ago .We were sleeping and it came in a screened porch then into the garage up on the front porch and tried to come in the front door. I ran it off .It came back the next night got the bird feeders. .He began marking trees with claw marks .A few days later he came again. I have no use for bears. Most times they run ,but get a large bore and he can be trouble.
