The country’s varied ecosystems, ranging from lush rainforests to vibrant coral reefs, host an extraordinary array of species, many of which are endemic to the region. Iconic animals such as the orangutan, Malayan tiger, and the Sumatran rhinoceros symbolize Malaysia's commitment to conservation. The extensive network of national parks, including the UNESCO-listed Gunung Mulu National Park and Bornean rainforests, provides a sanctuary for myriad species and helps maintain the delicate balance of their habitats. As someone who grew up working in the jungles of Borneo this brings up a lot of memories.Saving an orphaned Sun bear whose mother was probably killed by poachers is the most memorable thing I've done in my life time. It's rather unfortunate that palm oil plantations and illegal loggings have destroyed most of pristine jungles here.

All this while, I had only seen skunks in Walt Disney cartoons, but while in Sabah East Malaysia, I encountered a group of skunks in the forest near the Kinabatangan River. They sprayed a very foul-smelling liquid towards our 4-wheel drive, and the smell lingered on the car tires for months, even after being washed several times!

The wild nature of Malaysia is truly impressive! Unique animals like orangutans, pangolins, and bizarre insects really surprised me with the region’s biodiversity. This video isn't just visually stunning, but it also provides a lot of fascinating information. I hope the channel continues to release more episodes about other regions!

Thanks for the amazing videos. A small feedback if you’re open to it , Sometimes I find myself turning the volume down, because of the background music which is a bit loud and uses instruments with a sharp sound, but it becomes harder to listen to the narrator’s voice. Thanks again

a bird spends months hard labor building his nest and those people come along and steal the birds nests from them for money, that's like a human building a house and someone comes along and steals it from you and u can do nothing about it because he sold it for money. Hope the birds STOP making nests in caves and build nests where No one can steal it from them.

@@frowner_and_co humans steal the wild swiftlets’ nests to sell for birds-nest soup and Traditional Chinese Medicine. If the nests are harvested before eggs are laid and chicks fledge, the birds cannot reproduce and the population is wiped out. This destruction has been happening in many areas, as increased demand overwhelms traditional harvesting methods. Production of the nests has been industrialized in some places, with the birds kept inside of buildings.
