Crikey, I’m sure glad you got in some serious hiking in with all them gates 🙃 Your “falling over pigs vs shooting” joke made me smile. I filled out a questionnaire the other day about those lesser used huts, it was very heavily weighted looking for user complaints to justifying DOC removing them which is so typical, I was most likely the most positive respondent ever, any hut is better than no hut.

Yep, it we a bit of a mission. We all have to keep DOC thinking about the huts as a backcountry treasure, not a chore and keep on them to look after them for future generations. They'll never be replaced once they're gone.

Yes, there is a little room around the hut for tents, always depending on the size of the tent. It has been cut up a bit by the 4wd vehicles, but there is space. Thanks for watching.
