Mix mud and saw dust from the pile to seal the cracks of the walls. Will do wonders for insulating the cold from coming in.

You must attach the plastic to the ridge of the roof, so that the water runs down the plastic and out through the walls. Good luck.

Some large tarps, maybe set up like a ten inside the attic space so the drains to the walls might keep you dry. If you put them under the roof, the roof might keep them from blowing away in the wind. I typed that before seeing the the whole vidio, I like the plastic and sawdust now that I see it dry straw works good too. Hope you stay all winter. The colder it gets the move mice will move in. Plastic buckets work for that, but steel pots will work for melting snow. You will need somthing to store water in and a root cellar or keep inside. Get an extra axe handle if you don't have one. Looks fun!

I had to move to another, wilder and more interesting place, to a reserve where there are no people and only wild nature. Where I will spend the winter.

Why are so many farms not lived in. Is it seasonal in some cases or did they just move somewhere else?

These farms are only inhabited in the summer, when it is warm. Cows, sheep, horses are pastured here... In winter, people go down to the village.
