Did you guys make it to Custer State Park? We spent a week in the area and did both parks. Can't wait to go back with my camera, such a great area.

We didn't have time on that trip to get to Custer but we've heard great things about it! Next time around for sure

Question for you and Emilie. When in a new spot where you have a good mix of wildlife and landscapes, how many shots (average) would each of you take in a day? Do either of you return to your campsite after a day out with 1500-2000 images? Great video again. My wife and I are heading to a similar landscape in late summer 2025, so this video gave me a lot to think about in my planning.

Hey Peter, it's really hard to say how many. I can't recall having shot more than a few hundred photos in any one outing in a very long time. Maybe 500-600 tops on a really good day. We pretty much never shoot all day anywhere. If it's a photography outing then it's usually pretty short, if it's an all day hike then maybe we take the occasional photo along the way. Most outings I'd say we come back with a couple hundred photos at most. That's awesome you are headed somewhere similar, the badlands habitats are all so stunning!

I live 4 hours east of the Badlands and get there as often as possible. Mid day light is almost never decent. About four years ago the Bighorn Sheep lost 90% of the herd due to disease. Since then just about all the adult sheep have radio collars. The landscapes are always awesome at sunrise and sunset

Thanks for watching and that's great you live close to there, such an awesome place! I guess we were super lucky to get to see the huge rams without collars last year then!
